Spirit of the Suwanee

Anyone ever been, or thinking of going? We're looking at going for the New Years Ride and concert, and was hoping someone on here had been.

I have never been on the ride, but i used to work there. They seam to have alot of fun on the ride, plus you usually have a welcome dinner, an auction and a concert.

My friend Spring is the resident farrier during the rides, and she goes every year, and loves it. The trails are beautiful, and if Jarrod is still the barn manager, he gives a great tour, and is a really laid back nice guy.

They usually fill up fast for stalls, and round pens, so if you are thinking of going, i would call soon. Good luck, and hope you have fun.

I have always wanted to go there. The only thing hold me back is the loooong haul (6 hrs). I know I can't get off of work for the ride you are talking about but if you ever do get a group, let me know, it would tempt me to go even more (kinda like poking a stick in my ribs, until I say mercy!!) Their cabins are nice, we can all split one.

Not sure if Snickers still works there, but PM her about any info you might need.

Don't think Snickers is still there, and not sure about Jarrod.

My son and I went up for the Horsetopia BB ride last November, and had a great time. The cabins are indeed nice. We had a small group, so it was really fun.

I've been told that New Year's Ride is huge, and more concern about partying than riding, but I've never been there, so really don't know.

If somebody wanted to organize another "Horsetopia" ride, I would consider it. Even though it is a six hour haul for us, too!

Every time I've convoyed, it has turned into a disaster!
But I'm always willing to try again.

And I don't know where you are, but we're in Southwest Florida, and it is a straight shot up I-75 for us.

I would totally love to, but the only way I can go is if I can get others from the barn to go too - no truck or trailer And the only way I could get that to happen is for something really special, hence the New Year's idea.

You probly need to decide QUICK and get a stall/cabin reserved. It might even be too late, call and find out. If I knew I could get off of work, I would be interested, but there is no way.

Also, pack your flannel PJs for you and Mr. Bubbles.....its going to be cold

I know, right? Might be a turn off for the wimps down here lol! We were looking at doing it as a practice for the 3 day Ocean to Lake ride we're planning on joining in February, hopefully some HTers join that one, looks like a lot of fun!
