Pygmy goat info. needed . . . . .

O.K. my son has wanted goats for a while now. As I type this - he is on his way to pick up 2 fixed males and has acquired 1 other female. They are about 6-8 months old. I know they eat hay and need a place to live. What else can you tell me about them???? I have never owned a goat before and really want him to learn how to care for them properly. We are moving to our own acerage in the next 3 weeks and will have a shed for them to go in (winterized with insulation, and a "goat run" and will provide them with fresh water daily. What else?
My son has plans to build them a playground to play in with logs turned upright for them to jump on, tires for them to crawl under/play on (are tires safe?) and a platform for them to jump up & down on. Any other suggestions for things to keep them entertained?
Is there any good books out there that you can recommend?
Am thinking I need all the help I can get I am a nervous new goat "mom" .
thanks!!

Oh yes -- will post pictures of the little guys when they are safely parked in the goat pen (temporary boarding place) at our friend's farm until we can safely move them to our own acerage.

They are escape artist!!! The good thing is that if the escape they just stay right there and graze for a while. There are a few good websites for info. http://www.goatworld.com/ try this website. They need shots annually, shelter (they don't like to get wet).

Do a search in this forum for "goat." You'll find several threads on goat care!

O.K. Here are a few pictures -- bear in mind that I am the family photographer and hubby is NOT -- he took the pictures.
They were originally called Mike & Ike. Their names have been changed to "Bandit" for the black & white and the little brown one is Hershey.

I know they are quite good at jumping fences. Where we are keeping them in the interim (before we take possession of our acerage and make sure the fences are solid) have a goat that used to jump the fence all the time. They had to put 2 rows of barbed wire on top of the fence to keep her in. She would never go far -- just thought the grass was always greener on the other side of the fence

I will post better pictures in the morning when I go out and have a look at them.
