New 5-6 mo. Nubian cross doe!!! questions ;)

Hey everyone,

I just bought a baby milking goat for myself and companionship for my pony. She cries a lot (I know nubians are very vocal) and is the only goat I own . . . will she be fine alone, until next spring when she has babies (I plan on keeping one)???? Will she get used to being alone in a few days?

Hopefully I can get pictures in my next post . . . she's tri-colored and too cute!

Thanks!

Goats do much better with at least one other goat they are major herd animals. Is she not bonding with your pony? Did I read your post correctly she is 5/6 months old and has been bred? She may be fine until she has kids if she bonds with the pony otherwise she will probally cry. She's awefull young to be left alone.

She isn't bred yet. The people I bought her from said to wait until Jan. and leave her housed with the buck for about a month to insure that she's bred.

She is pretty much fine with the pony from opposite sides of the fence, she was around a pony before, it's my pony I'm worried that will hurt the goat. I've been introducing them everyday and the pony has been getting more and more used to her and whinnies when we leave.

Is she getting quieter?

I'll tell you this...I have two Kinders in my field (Nubian/Pygmy crosses), twins with a herd of 20 other goats and they are STILL the noisiest critters out there! They get themselves in the MOST trouble, they holler the loudest, and they do it for NO APPARENT reason!
