Please Help! Little Jerry is Very Sick!!

Hello All! My favorite rooster of my flock, Little Jerry, is very sick. He has not been acting quite right for a while now, maybe a few weeks. He still eats well, drinks well, and his eyes are still bright but his comb has become very pale, and he just kind of sits around and acts very depressed.

I have put him in an isolation cage because some of my other roosters were being VERY mean to him. I put a very nice hen in with him so he is not alone. I first treated him with antibiotics but then stopped after I thought he may be crop bound- realizing that the antibiotics would only make that worse.

For the past few days I make him a daily mash of soaked Layena, baby bird food, and I mixed in some of the prebiotic/probiotic supplement that I give to my mare. I also gave him some bread soaked in olive oil. He is still acting the same. Do you think electrolytes will help? Should I add those to his water or food? Can I use the same electrolytes I feed my horse?

I really hope that he gets better. I do not know how old he is, I bought him as an adult from the local feed store. He always has access to fresh water and feed, including scratch feed. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help Little Jerry???

Worms maybe? Most farm stores carry poultry wormers.

Good Luck

Aww, I hope he gets better.

I don't know a lot about roosters, but it sounds like it may not be dietary, it sounds like it's a paracite.
