Breeding problems.

My 8 yr old jersey cow has not been able to settle in calf for two years, Is their any why to get her more receptive to settle? could she be used as a embryo transfer cow still?

What breeding methods are you currently using?
Have you had a vet out do an exam on her?

I also think she should have a check by a vet they can direct you. I do know a dairy near us uses cysterlin and/or lytalyse to bring thier cows into heat and to regulate them but I've no idea how to use the drugs....again check with a cow vet.

How have you been trying to breed her? Depending on how you are doing it and her physical condition, it can range from a few different things. If you have an AI'er that can check her uterus out or your vet she may have cysts on her ovaries which will not allow her to breed. If you've been trying perdy hard to breed her for 2 years she is obviously dry and wil most likely never take. It happens quite a bit to dairy cows actually, plus she is getting a little age on her and for a dairy cow she is actually kind of old. The only thing Luetalyse will do is try to bring her into heat, it doesn't guarantee she will take at all, just get her into heat. Where did you get her from originally?
