Atomic and Nuclear (the wild goats!)

Here are pictures of the wild baby goats I posted about earlier! They are Nigerian dwarf goats. They were supposed to be "tame" when I got them last weekend but they were wild as little deer. So Dave and I have spent hours with them this week!

Atomic (Tommy) and Nuclear (Nuke)

This is Tommy. He is the bold one and is getting pretty friendly. Last night he actually climbed up in my lap to get some feed!

And this is Nuke, he is much more timid but has finally worked up enough courage to eat grain out of our hands.

Such cuties

Love those names too

Once they eat from your hands the rest is easy...they will tame really fast.

I know you will have F*U*N with them. Goats are a piece of God's laughter placed on earth

We are totally crazy about them already. I get up early every morning to go spend time with them and then go see them first thing when I get home from work.

They are too cute and funny! They love to jump on things and play, what a hoot!

I took my collie in with me today to feed them. He is such a smart dog. He knew they were afraid of him, so he just laid down in the corner and waited. Pretty soon they started coming up and sniiffing him. I could tell he really wanted to love on them, but he just laid there real quiet like I told him to. I'm going to start taking him with me every time I go, because he is the guardian, he'll take care of them.

The lady we got them from doesn't name them, she just numbers them. So one was Y12 and one was Y15 (I don't remember which was which). Dave said that Y12 was the name of the nuclear reactor plant at Oak Ridge, Tn, hence the names Atomic and Nuclear.

Tommy and Nuke are coming around fast now, had to push them off my lap to get up today while feeding them. They are starting to bleat when they see me too! Dave says pretty soon they will be as spoiled as the rest of the zoo.

I love the names.. and they are adorable.. I need you to come down and tame Butch and Sundance.. Butch is pretty friendly, but not Sundance.. Although he looks a lot like your black and white one..

Aren't they fun...

They are so freakin' cute. I want a goat, but nowhere to keep it. Darn city limits!

We knew fencing could be a problem, so we have chain link right aroud the stall, and then ran electric net fencing around the little pasture for them and Sammy the miniature horse. Works great and it was not real expensive.

It would be nice to have some little critters that will eat what my horse won't.
