Those darn auctions [Goats]

Hello everyone. We really should just avoid that auction all together. But there are always so many cute goats. Here are some pics of this weeks addictions. First Ill tell you about why we stayed. Hubby picked the big girl- a La Mancha doe, and the smaller doe a nubian doe was my pick

Then little whisper came through... she belonged to like an apx 8 yr old little girl that didnt want to sell her. Had to make sure she went to a good home. Little girl even had named her. Shes a 3 week old La Mancha

Then the tiny babies came in... awww. There was like 6 of them. we got two of them

This one fell asleep with my daughter. They are actually sleeping

Then came in two very scared little Nubian crosses. One wouldnt stand for a picture just yet. But this girl did this morning

She thinks about being social.

Little dwarf wether

Question- The scared little palomino Nubian cross girls. Any guess what the cross is? They do something Ive never seen before. They like umm lock up there feet and wont move, and they do it with there neck as well. Never had them do that. Thats not a fainting thing or anything is it? Thats almost what it reminds me of but they dont fall over.

It sounds like mixed w/ fainters. Our fainters do that id they're not spooked enough to actually fall over. So does the 1/2 fainter. Cute goats!

Very nice goats. Love Nubeians. Is that new doe supposed to not have ears. I think I heard of a bred with tiny ears before!? Cool a fainting cross neet!!

I am working on getting a breeding herd, one of La manchas and one of Nubians. They are our pets but we breed a bit as well.

Leader of the Nubian herd [my buck]

Hes wanting cereal right here. He was a bottle feed baby

Future leader of the La Mancha herd.

The no ear ones [well barely any ears] are La Manchas

You'll have to make a note to yourself to only go to the auction once or twice a year.
How many goats have you acquired now? Your herd is growing by leaps and bounds.

Nice looking bunch you got there! I'd find it hard to say no too. Guess that's why I don't go to the auction. I can't say no to the calves. Although I did come home with two goats last fall.

We do rehome some of what we buy at the auction. But right now we have a herd of 25 that are staying I was trying to build a nice herd of painted goats. When I first started I couldnt find many, and now they are everywhere and they just keep getting prettier. lol I gonna have to just say no to auction lol

Your Nubian Buck is pretty. How hold is he? Our buck here is the size of a small pony!

You do have quite a menagerie! I love all the goaties. I'd take that painted LaMancha off your hands in a heartbeat, what a dolly.

Thank you. He was a bottle baby and is such a good boy. He is a little over 2 yrs old and still growing.

The La mancha female is not only gorgeous but super sweet. We just love her. Plus we had a price that we wanted to pay at the auction for her, and trust me we were broke and thinking no way we would get her, and we paid 1/4 less then we wanted to. I got her dirt cheap!!

I just bought two LaMancha X Alpine cross does. They are 16 months old, never freshened. They are absolutely the sweetest things on this earth! My does ears look almost exactly like yours. From what I've been learning, those ears are called "Elf ears". Beautiful coloration on your goats!
