My cow family
Meet my cow family.
 This is mom and her boys. left to right- Red (our herd bull) Frances (lead cow) hiding is the youngest steer 9 months old and Spook (2 years old in Oct.) another steer. It's funny as I'm always fighting to get a cow in the freezer and now I'm fighting to keep one out. Hubby says Spook is this years dinner. I say give him another year.  I didn't name the little guy and for good reason.  This is a pic of Frances with her oldest and youngest boys. She had a heifer calf before Red was born but hubby sold her.

Nice looking family there! My two just got home this afternoon, we have Bunny (mom, with a bun in the oven) and Rusty (last year's calf). We got 2 1/2 cows, one money.

Gorgeous herd. I knew people who named their cows that were being raised for the dinner table. They would name them but make it yummy names. Filet, Mignon, Steak, Hamburger, etc...

I know that he was bred and raised for that purpose, but he sure is cute..
