The Flock

We recently set up a more permanent enclosure for our chickens, and there were pictures galore! Enjoy!

First of all, there are my mother's chickens, so here she is posing proudly in front of her new chicken pen.

Our nine Rhode Island Reds. We got them straight run, and I think there are two roosters in the bunch.

Our Five White Rock pullets in their old pen, just before being moved.

And then in the new pen.

Some close ups of the Rhode Island Reds

And then the whole pen.

Hope you enjoyed! These are our first chickens.

They look pretty happy! That is a neat enclosure! We have Rhode Islands and they are awesome birds. We have added Wellsumers to the flock this year..we will see how they do. Also have some White and Brown Leghorns. Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed seeing your flock!

That looks great! We tried something similar, but the coyotes ripped through the wire and ate every single one. But our house is litterally right in the middle of the coyotes breeding grounds. BTW, nice lookin birds!

Nice pen- Can anything get in it ? It looks like it can just be lifted up to get access. Do they have any cover a house to go into ??

That is a really nice pen you got there. I'd like to pick it apart though but in a nice way. Just some pointers from one who owns chickens. PM me if you'd prefer to do it in private.

Your mom looks happy, me too! Chickens are a pleasure to own. She's got some nice looking birds and yep I see a rooster in the mix. Watch him as Rhode Island Red roosters can be very mean.

They're getting their henhouse soon, hopefully in the next week. For now we put tarps over the top and around the sides to block out wind, rain, and sun. They're doing great in it so far; they love having the space to run around and be silly.
