Is the nanny having trouble? or is it her and your first time?

A nanny will lay down and get uyp several times. Once you see the feet it will go very quick or it should.

I agree with dcandace....normal birthing, once the feet and nose are seen, should be relatively quick.

She had one last year and she had trouble and almost died. We decided to not breed her every again. The stud got into her pen [our stupidness we didnt know they could get through the fence like that] He was only with her for a short time so we thought she was fine... no milk or anything but here she is having one...

I called the vet... three actually and they are not available til morning... i am very far away and its hard to get a vet out here!!

When she is ready to kid, she'll lay down and stretch out during contractions. When you can see the feet you can very gentle assist ONLY during contractions and when she is pushing.

Don't worry about the 30 minutes passing. I had a nanny having contractions, we went on a 2 hour ride and when we came back she had just started to push baby out. Give her a little time b4 youy worry too much

Shes a little pygmy and last year she had alot of troubles and all we ever saw was a nose, and the baby died inside her and never came out right... some later had to come pull out a dead baby from her, and we almost lost her...

Yes, what is happening right now? It should all happen VERY quickly if it is normal. It is likely there will be more than one with goats.

Hun....I have had to deliver many a kid. Do you have rubber gloves? If so, put them on, with some K-Y jelly or vaseline of you don't have any K-Y. Insert 2 fingers and feel for the feet or head. How far in do you have to go before feeling it? If it's right there.....wait a few minutes and when she contracts, try to get ahold of the feet or head, and pull gently. Once she stops contracting, stop pulling. If you have to really push your fingers in to feel the kid....just leave her be. Most important....do NOT panic around her! Goats have amazing perception of someone panicing, and if she's already stressed, and senses your panic, she will fight the labor. I will stay for a bit, and try to help you!
