Red face Poor Moontahr

Looking through one of my photo albums today, I found some pictures of Moontahr. These pictures were taken sometime in November 06. My 59 year old mother at the time, and her friend wanted to ride Moontahr. This what happens when you have old beginners on your horse.

First my Mom

Getting on was a little difficult but she did it.

Now the moving part.

She finally got the hang of walking and steering. She starting walking him by herself.

Now the getting off part. She had trouble swinging her right leg over the saddle, so I had to help her. Again poor Moontahr stood there like a saint.

Now her friend.

She was trying to neck rein him. Poor Moontahr was confused, he doesn't know how to neck rein.

He is a lazy horse and his favorite gait is walking. Wasn't to thrilled about the trotting.

His favorite thing to do. Stop and stand.

Thanks, he really did. This horse is very forgiving. Not bad for a 2 1/2 year old at the time.

Yep, looks like the true test of the mind of a 2 year old. It looks like he did very well and is such a handsome boy!

Love that horse, what a trooper, sounds like the kind of horse so many of us look for. I couldn't believe it when I read he was only a 2 y/o. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Thanks for the compliments. He is definitely worth it. Even after all of his vet bills.

He's beautiful, and what a patient boy.

Years ago, my husband and I went for a trail ride on Icelandic horses. Upon our return to the stable, one of the riders couldn't get off the horse. She said she had a cramp. The stable owners got a step stool, one person helped swing her leg over, another balanced the stool and eventually she got off.
