My Horse Jumped A Cow!!
Alright, I know I shoulden't be jumping my boy just yet, for the point we are in training. But I got the 'Okay' from the vet to play around. His legs are clean and he is 100% recovered from the kick injury last year. He is still learning his leads, learning to move off my leg and all that. He's 6 years old.
So, I saw the cow..and I thought.. what the heck. Why not! This is going to be a test, to see if he will jump anything out in the xc course So, what do ya think? I wish his ears were forward..![]()

From the year or so that I've had him, hes never spooked at anything!! So I've been testing him with everything I can think of! He goes on the road with cars, goes to the beach with dogs and little kids swarming everywhere! I haven't found anything yet!

That is an awesome picture, a great compliment to your training, I can see many horses refusing to go anywhere near that cow, fantastic job.
Only way to make it better..................be looking out between his ears over the jump, not down at the jump ![]() ![]()

Wahoo... Looks like fun. He seems to be ok with jumping over a cow... Haw haw haw haw... From your thread title I was thinking it maybe a roping gone wrong or something
... He is a beautiful horse!

Well my boss has a Dutch mare, who she just recently took to Groton House 1 and 11 and competed in Prelim. She went over some INCREDIBLE combinations, but I know for a FACT she wouldnt be caught dead anywhere near that cow!
So I saw your boy is off to a good start!I also agree with rm185- they always say, look where you want to go! The ground is certainly not it! ![]() Also shorten your stirrups a hole or two and loosen up that breastplate |
