My horse met a camel (Funny pics) More pics - P2

We did descentizing training at a local wildlife place in our town the other day with our mounted unit. Wanted to share some pictures. Not everyone can say they went on a trail ride with a camel. This is where we were at, checkout the website. www.ngala.net More pics coming, check for new threads !!!

First we started in the round pen with "Sulton" Rode for a little bit then went on a trail ride !! Thats me in the center getting on. I came in late due to work. Scared the poop right out of my horse !!

Our trail ride. Horse in front is about 15.2 hands.

After the ride we posed for pictures. Here, my horse wants no part of being in front of "Sulton" He was fine on the trails with him. Rode next to and past "Sulton" No issues. Didn't help "Sulton" making a ton of camel noises either !! He is a a character !!

My gelding is 15.3 / 16.0 hands and I am 6' tall. We look like midgets !! We have an awesome group shot of our mounted unit with "Sulton" in the middle but I don't want to post it due to not having everyones in the pic permission since they are all deputies.

Then we got to ride him !! Smooth ride !!

MORE PICTURES COMING - CHECK FOR NEW THREADS.

MORE PICTURES !!!!!!!!!!

Here we are feeding "Coulter" the giraffe ........... We are up in a loft about 12' high so we are at "his" level !! Loves carrots !!!

He leaned over trying to steal my hat !!! You can see "Zeus" the zebra too.

"Zeus" the zebra

One of the many cats (BIG CATS!!) He has panthers, leopards, etc...

Back to "Sulton" He will be riding him in an opening ceremony of a NASCAR race. He is showing us the American Flag that will be attatched to his saddle.

Oh my gosh, how exciting. The second last picture your horse's eyes looks like they are going to bug right out of his head. Too much fun.

Yeah, head to head there were some issues, but we rode along side of him, next to him etc on the trail ride. When it came time to trotting and loping on the trail..........I LMAO watching that camel move. Funny !! My gelding loped passed him and gave him "alot" of room, thank goodness for a wide trail. I had very little control b/c I couldn't stop laughing. I had a blast. I can't say much for my horse !!!!!!!!!!!!!! In case you missed it. Here is the website we were at ........ check it out !!

Wow! Now THAT'S an experience! How lucky you were to have had an opportunity like that! I love the giraffe picture - they're my absolute favourite! I would imagine your gelding is pretty much desensitized to everything under the sun, after a day like that. Do these animals belong to the guy personally? What was the zebra like?

Yes, go to his website www.ngala.net He owns all of them. The zebra was acting like a zebra from what I gather. Honory, biting etc. They are still working on that with him !! We weren't aloud to pet him. Since you like giraffs, here is one more picture............... He was being led back in his pen. He has 2 more years of growing .....

Yeah, I guess that is one critter you would HAVE to teach to lower his head. ALL his animals were VERY personalbe. He hand raised all of them from the bottle. His pens were VERY clean and immaculate. He has a ton of staff working for him and every animal (he had alot) was clean, happy, fat and well taken care of.

The round pen.....I know it was bigger than 60' the avg size for a horse. I am thinking 100' ...... not sure.

OMG... I can't get over the giraffe wearing a HALTER! And that extra-extra-long lead shank... priceless! Love their sexy long eyelashes. He must be quite a character - trying to steal your hat and all! I had heard that zebras aren't really as sweet as they look - wasn't sure if it was true or not, but I guess there's the proof, huh? Someone (not sure if it was on here or not) said, I think, that they're more like a donkey than a horse in personality. But back to the giraffe... I'm so glad you had a chance for such a wonderful day!

That would have been so cool! I love the picture where is eyes are bugging out that's hilarious. I couldn't imagine being so close to such neat animals like that. So do you run into a lot of camel riding bad guys or was this just a general desensitizing to different animals?? I'm kidding I know the answer, but I can just see a guy dressed in black with a ski mask trying to run away from horse mounted deputies.....and a giraffe
