Last fall some dumped a couch in a ditch a bout one mile from where we have the horses.
We were riding by there and Timber was convinced that this THING is out there to get him (I have to mention here that NOTHING spooks that boy!)

The moment I said: "Timber, don't act like you've never seen a couch before....." we bursted out laughing - how could he have possibly known what a couch is poor boy!

But this one was definitely one of the evil kind...

foot note: I just don't get it, how can people do someting like this anyways??

Oh, so true about the ponies! My horses are TERRIFIED of ponies. We even have 2 of our own. They still freak out whenever they see a new pony.

My horse is terrified of running water. Sure, he'll forge through any puddle (even of unknown depth ) and he'll gladly swim an ocean for me.. but put that boy in front of a hose with a trickle of water coming out.. and he's in the next state.

Makes me wonder about the previous owners...
or my gelding's brain functions!

dito! There's no way I could hose my girls legs off! Water in any way is so frigthened!!! No puddles, no hoses, no spunges and to drink from a bucket is duable but still very scary! (how come, the automated waterer in the pasture isn't???)

to our horse:

ANY kid of bottle that squirts any kind of liquid is a snake and it is a warning to RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

we have to wipe him with a sponge during fly season. Takes alot longer but at least he's protected.

Ya'll need to sack out your horses more often, but windchimes will do it too, especially the flashy ones.

How about those storm drain grates along the road? The ones about 3' square cemented into the berm of the road? We had a horse that wasn't afraid of anything and would go anywhere except near a storm drain. He wouldn't come within 10 yards of one. He's arch his neck and snort as he made a wide circle to get past it. I think maybe trolls live down in those things!

How about absolutely nothing. My mare has spooked and teleported to the right (always to the right - at least she is consistent). After I picked myself up off the ground and looked - nothig was there.

What about random chickens that run out in front of you while your riding? That's a spooky thing! Been there done that....
