Funny story about falling acorns...
My kids and I were driving down a street in a "not so nice" part of the city when we stopped at a stoplight. All of a sudden I hear what I thought were bullets spraying the hood of my van...I yelled to the kids to "Get Down!"...I of course squeeled outta there...noticed the lady driving next to me looking at me as though I were insane...my oldest boy goes, "Mom, those were just acorns hitting the hood". I felt so stupid.

HAHAHAHAHA.....that is the best when they do that. We were coming home one time and both my stud and Quilla are deathly afraid of culverts. So as we are stepping over it to get from the trail to the road both horses have their ears straight out to the sides of their heads when Rosario let out the biggest fart ever, scared himself stupid and jumped forward spooking Quilla off to the side and almost into the ditch.

Landscaping boulders, the broad flat kinds you can sit on...terrifying. I might mention that this was after a plastic bag flew past us, a palm frond fell, and kids were screaming on the other side of the fence...nothing, no reaction. But a boulder, the most immoveable thing ever? Terrifying. Well, until we found out that peppermints live on landscaping boulders, now they're not so bad.

Killer bunnies and snow sliding off trees & roofs! My poor old cutting horse is a show/arena vetern...but you'd better be hanging on tight when the killer bunny pops out of the bush.

No Joke! That is Whispers biggest fear...well that I have found so far. We were all standing around a camp ground talking. It was a pretty windy day so when this lady got out of her chair the wind took the chair on over and it tumbled a few feet. I swear Whisper shot about 6 feet straight up in the air. Im sure if he could talk he would of been screaming "RUUUUN!"

Memphis' biggest fear was...get this...LOGS! Stumps...fine. Trees...fine. Armadillos, dogs, deer...fine. LOGS...OMG! Total freak out. He SWORE those things ate horses! What a goof!

Two of my uncles mares are afraid of the sound of people blowing their noses. Not a sneeze but blowing. I was riding down the road with my cousin a couple summers ago. We were talking and kind of not paying a lot of attention. Well my cousin didnt think much of it and did a "farmers blow" or "snot rocket", which ever you prefer, off the side of his mare. She FLIPPED! She spooked sideways, hitting the mare I was on, and then they were both off to the races! We were laughing so hard we couldnt hardly stop them lol. But it was kind of gross. Yuck!

Horses brain function is a mystery lol. I was riding gypsy and stoped to talk to a friend and the barn owner had a new car and we had passed it well the car had a tarp and since we were stoped and she got bored even though the tarp was a good 15 feet from her she decided that it was going to get her and spun and through the air i went aw Glad my boy isn't afraid of anything tarps, water, traffic, loves little kids very gentle with them, white objects anything I have come across had to get use to the big scary stall fan for a minute though when I turned it on he was like what??? hard to belive he's three.

Let's not forget the terrifying puddle of pee - that the horse itself deposited! And of course the killer shadow and the change in terrain from grass to pavement or vice versa!

My daughter like to ride the side roads and until recently had to avoid going anywhere near the horse-eating man hole covers in the middle of the road. To prepare for a parade we had to take him home and ride him up and down the side streets while we jumped up and down on the round things in the road. If I could have taken a picture of his face the first time his foot actually touched the manhole cover, it was precious. Now he like the sound they make when he walks on them. Strange animals that all I can say. You will do something you think will spook them and they don't react and then the simple things sending to the next pasture.

That reminds me of my friends horse Stormy lol. Hes not really a spooky horse but more of a spaz. Anyways my friend rode him in the parade we had here last month and I swear his expression was like this the whole time . He wouldnt really spook but he would jump and stare. I could of swore that little horse was going to have a heart attack before he got back to the trailers!

Rocks eat horses too. As long as I've had my mare, she still veers way around a big rock.

We were trail riding yesterday and there was a lady in a cart with a full sized horse coming down the trail towards us - both of our horses went ballistic - snorting, swinging around - we tried to get them to go up and pass the cart but there was no way - so went turned around went back up the trail aways where we could wait in a big field for her to pass us. We got them to follow behind her a little ways but I could not believe how afraid of that cart coming at them they were. Also my daughter was pushing the baby around the yard in a stroller one day and all three of mine took off tearing around the pasture - looking back at the stroller like it was out to get them. Too funny to watch.

Zippers! I was in the pasture with the horses this past winter. I was standing next to Angel, the pony, zipped up my coat and she was GONE. When she finally came back to stand next to me we worked on that.

Velcro (on support boots, face masks, etc.), paints/appaloosas, getting dirty...and the guilty horse is 16.2 and weighs about 1300 lbs. Kinda funny to watch when she spooks at something, cause she's usually WAY bigger than it is...
