My horse is leary of rabbits. We have donkeys so I think she's convinced that rabbits are out to breed her so she will give birth to long ear. She just knows those donkeys are half rabbit. When we jump a rabbit she looks in the direction it ran and does what I call the "bobble head"... She twitches her head wanting to spook but knows not to.

What about balloons? They hover around just waiting to smack a horse in the head
We also have a spot on the trail that the horses always spook from. Every horse I have ridden, or have seen ridden through there will spook the first time. I have no idea why

My Icelandic was absolutly terrified of garbage day! And lets not even talk about recycling day, until then.. I didn't know horses could physically jump vertically!

What about the no-see-squirrels. They always scared the mess out of the Standardbreds when we past the woods.
definition of no-see-squirrels......The squirrels that the horses swore they saw and no matter how hard you looked, you didn't see them. But believe me, the horses swore they were out there to eat them. |

Do you think the horses that spook at the farts are spooking in hopes of covering up the fart so no one notices that they just did something embarrassing??? LOL Kinda like "opps I tooted now if I jump around no one will notice what I did" LOL

Sometimes horses we meet on the trail are completely buffaloed by my mule. They'll snort around and try to run off. She just stands there and watches like WHAT? She is also scared by her own farts. She is very lady like and tries so hard to keep them in so when one does get by it's kind of high powered.

Yes, moose are very scary things! Shafts of killer sunlight coming through the riding arena doors/windows are pretty scary too!

Squirrels.
My horses happily share their dropped feed with the squirrels but let them see one in the pasture and they run and hide And horse of "color", my TB's look at a Paint and think it's from outer space and won't go near him/her |
