Oh my. If you just want to watch the "halt" pull the red ball over with your mouse to about 4 minutes. That poor girl. She sure looks like she was crying on the way out. I would be!!

What a relaxed horse!!! Looks like he figured he was done for the day. I love it!! I thought it looked like she was laughing as she left, could be wrong though.

I also wonder if she taught him to do that, just by the way she was holding the rein. Also since he calmly let her get back on and walked off. Perhaps a trick that backfired.

Celista did that to me once. We were going down a sandy hill & she just stopped & lied down for a roll. Mind you, it would have been much more embarassing during a dressage test.

Did it seem like that horse was shaking it's head constantly, or is that just the jiggly camera-work?

Well said Singing Tree, We train them to do these tricks and then they embarrass us at the wrong moment. Just like kids.

or dogs. I refuse to teach my dogs to speak. It is the "be quiet!" that I want them to know.

The reason I think she was crying afterwards is because she wiped her cheeks a time or two. Later, she might have thought it was funny....

And yes, I have had horses lie down with me. Taught my Morgan to swim. Later, took her to the lake just knee deep, and she laid down because she knew how good that cool water would feel... So I had to ride several miles back with soggy boots, etc.

Poor girl! They do pick the choicest moments...at least she knows her horse doesn't have any show jitters!

It was the rider's hands, probably trying to keep him on the bit.

I too thought she was laughing, she even patted her horse on the way out, I'd have been laughing too out of total shock!

I cannot even imagine how embarrassed she would be! I would have cried - still, pretty hilarious to watch! I loved it. I ride Western because I always thought that English looked too hard, but I think I might have to try it now!
