Found Puppys

Yeah, I found about 8 little black lab pups, small. Probly around 5-6 weeks old, just started on dry food.

They were on the side of the road in a BOX!? I know I'm getting into something deeper, but I couldn't just leave them. <snipped due to a complaint> This is a BIG no for me. The pound was her second choice, still can't do it. But taking the little guys to the pound would mean death for all but MAYBE one or two. Yes this is a bit of a rant, but I'm trying my darnest to get them homes, all 8 of them.

I'm taking them to get shots and everything this week.

Some people are so cold, maybe you should spay your dogs!!!!

Bless you, Chasn, for taking in those pups. You've got a golden soul.

I hope the pups are all healthy and that you're successful in finding them great homes.

Please keep us updated.

Well...those horrible people COULD have thrown them in a trash bin or something. Stupid idiots. I really get so angry at people who don't spay/neuter their dogs!!! If you cannot afford to fix them, you shouldn't have them. I know I know...them's fightin words...but I get soooo angry!!!!

Those are adorable puppies, they look like pure breds. Is there a rescue for Labs in your area? I am sure they would take them in?

Bless you for saving them.

That is a great idea, but I really don't know where one would be around my area.

Ditto for me too.

How sad. I know of some friends who have found kittens/puppies in dumpsters, washing machings <at laundry mats> and yes, also in a box on side of the road. Horrible how ruthless and mean people can be.

That's how I got started on 30 yrs of lab ownership..............4 puppies dumped back in the woods near a train tracks. I was horrified, never realizing this is common practice in the south. I had them flown home to Phila......kept 2 re-homed 2.

I always wonder......................when people shoot a dog or cat, just to get rid of it..........what is it that they see at the end of the gun barrel? Can't they see the fear, longing, intelligence, soul of the animal they are about to literally, waste?

Look on www.petfinder.com to see if there are any rescues in your area. All of the ones around my area are listed there. Hope this helps. Good luck and thanks for picking up those cute babies.

That is disgusting that someone would drop a any animal, babies nonetheless in a box on the side of the road.

Thank god that you picked them up. Those little ones are just so cute, how could someone not want to spend time with them! It should be very easy to find them homes, I'd take one in a second.

If I lived closer, I'd take one of them. They're precious, and they certainly deserve to be treated with more respect. There's a special place in h#ll for the heartless SOB who dumped them.

Good for you.

If you were closer to me I would help you foster 3 of them. Anyone here on HT live close enough to her to help foster one or two? If you ever travil to central IL bring them with you and I will help. My family grew up with labs. We love them! Your mom should shoot the people who dumped the pups, not shoot the pups.

Thank you so much for rescuing them, what a great thing to do, I pray that you are able to find new homes for them real quick.

They look reasonable well cared for, round and healthy, so WHY does someone chosse to dump them when they get to that size. I MAY by some huge stretch of the imagination understand 'getting rid' of a newborn litter, well no I don't....................but I really really struggle as to how anyone can dump puppies at this size, I just don't get it

When I was in High School my bf and I found 3 puppies in a black hefty bag on the side of the road. We were picking up trash on the roadside of his grandmothers yard and stumbled across the bag. The puppies that we found were much younger, vet said about 3 weeks. It was very cold out. They must have just been put out, because they were not oxygen deprived when we found them, but very cold. We raised them on oatmeal until they got old enough to eat puppy food.

It's very sad what happens to so many animals. Bless you for taking them in!

Even if you run an add in the paper or put flyers up saying free puppies.. Someone will give them a loving home. Bless you for doing the right thing!!
I hate people like that, they shouldn't have any dogs what so ever.. I'm guessing that they might not be purebred and thats why they got dumped. But I'm sure that you could find them homes.
