Unhappy Riley has crossed over the bridge

Yesterday morning at 10:30, I held Riley in my arms as the Vet helped end her suffering. She was only 6 yrs old, but her kidneys had given out. It was so unexpected. One day she was my hyper little beagle and the next she was in intensive care. My husband and I both went to say our goodbyes. I rubbed her little velvet ears on my cheek as I had done so often in the past. Now that feeling will have to hold me til I get to see her again. I told her she would always be our Princess Riley and that we loved her so very much. As my husband and I said our goodbyes she gave us a look that spoke louder than words ever could. She had the spirit to go on, but her body would not allow it. I sat on the floor holding my little girl , kissing her soft little head as her spirit soared with the angels. Run free Riley. Chase all the rabbits you want. I will see you again and touch your soft ears and the beagle wrinkles on your head. Your beagle bark is so very much missed. And our bed was so empty last night without you. We will love you forever. Riley 2002-2008

I'm so sorry for your loss. She was lucky to have had someone as strong as you to make that decision on her behalf.

Rest in peace, Riley.
