Another animal to pray for, my beagle

I know I have asked for alot of prayers lately, but I need some more. My Beagle was taken to the Vet this morning and it was discovered she has kidney failure. She is there now, they are giving her IV fluids and a phosphorus binder. She is a very sick girl. If they can not get the kidney levels to even out, we will have to put her down. She is only 6. Way to young for this to be happening. I guess I didn't notice her weight loss and general malise because of my cat who has been so sick with intestinal cancer and than my horse Monet, who I had to put to sleep this weekend. I don't know how much more I can take. She is the sweetest little dog in the world. We call her Princess Riley. So please keep her in your thoughts and pray that her kidneys start working again and she can have a few more months with us. Also if you could keep praying for Tiger.

sending ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))) and prayers for you and your babies there. Sometimes it just seems that life has stored up all the downs to throw at you at one time. You have an awful lot to cope with at the moment, but you will get through this.

IMy dog is going through the exact same thing.............She spent all last week in the hospital. I too, requested HT prayers, and they seem to be helping, she is stabilizing. So without further ado, I offer you my thoughts and prayers that your baby will respond to treatment.

You poor kid, you are really going through it all at once aren't you? I am so sorry for Princess Riley, and I hope she does get better fast. 6 is awfully young for kidney failure, did they do a toxicity test on her?

{{{{hugs}}}}for you, dear, and best wishes for Riley.

Were they able to get her phosphorus level to lower? That was the one the Vet seemed most concerned about. I didn't even realize she didn't feel so well until Saturday. I have been so busy doctoring Tiger to keep him going awhile longer and than the thing with Monet. Now that it is night time, I know she misses us and is wondering why we left her at this strange place. I am sure she is missing our big ole bed , which by the way will have alot more room tonight without her in it. But I won't have her velvet ears to rub as I fall asleep. I just have this very bad feeling that something is gonna happen during the night and I am gonna get a call in the morning saying she is gone. When I talked to the Vet this afternoon, I asked if the medication they had to give her when she was younger for heart worm might have contributed to this and she said it may have. She came from Missouri and I guess heartworm is common down there. Has anyone ever heard of the medication to kill heartworms causing other problems later? I will be callin the Vet's office at 8 in the morning. They are going to redo the blood work at 7 , so I know they will have new info by 8.

We hospitalized her for 4 days and had her on diuresis(fluid therapy). The phosphorous levels came down significantly. Her creatinine was high as well, in addition to a host of other values. All in all they came down. She has to go back in 2 weeks for repeat bloodwork to make sure they are still coming down. It is difficult I know but the hospital is the best place right now. Prayers to you for the return of your friend soon,.
