Pinky goes to the vet!UPDATE!

My pit, Pinky, jas an appointment on Thursday, she's had this cyst on her neck for quite sometime, vet said it was nothing, well now it's getting bigger and I found another one growing under that one, deeper in the tissue!

I'm a nervous wreck, she's 13 and showing her age of late! It makes me sad to watch her get older and knowing what will happen sooner or later.

Best wishes.. My mom's 12 year old Dalmatian has a cyst of some sort under his eye... It keeps growing everytime I see him... He, too, is showing his age quite a bit lately... Such a tough thing to think about.

Sorry to hear that.
My bull terrier had them, on his hocks and belly. We had one removed (that he was licking till it bled) but he carried on for quite a while after that.
My friend's dalmation had one removed that was diagnosed as being a sarcoma (similar to what white horses can get) in her dog it has been very slow spreading and she is still fine.

That's good to hear, hers are on her neck, on the side, they don't seem to bother her, I can touch them and she doesn't flinch, and it moves freely, but the one underneath the first one I'm more concerned about it doesn't feel the same, it's softer and feels more attatched, if that makes sense?

Our Dalmation has one on her neck.........she is 15 years old and the vet says, as long as she is happy, leave it be.....at her age it might do more harm to try and remove it. So aslong as she licks my face, smiles at me wagging her tail, I'll just let her be...........I'm really dreading the day she is in pain.

Scrapchick, yes pinky did have the very dark muzzle, she was 18months when we got her from the pound so we missed when she was a teeny Pinky. Those pics are about a year old and in that year she has gotten really grey on her muzzle.

Well I saw Pinky's picture and thought Holy cow, that looks like Holler!
The rescue place and the vet said that Holler is a boxer mix of some sort, but he sure does look like Pinky, who is Pit. Holler has a LOT of very distinct boxer traits. I will tell Holler to think good and happy healthy thoughts for Pinky while he is busily shredding things while I am at work. lol.

Best wishes for a good outcome with miss pinky..lol...and how did you come up with that name? Makes me giggle to say it..Also, is that JRT I see in the pic with Pinky? They get along? I am very apprehensive about bringing another (3rd) dog in with my JRT, let alone a pit! I was just thinking of a dopey, happy lab......

Thanks for all the well wishes guys!

Give Holler a holla from the Pink!

I named her after Pinky Tuskadaro of Happy Days fame back in the 70's, strong, yet feminine!

Her appt is Thurs at 5:45!

Yes that's a JRT, they get along fine!, Pinky thinks she's Mom to all the babies I bring home, she moves over to them, Like go ahead you can nurse, God Love her she's always wanted to be a Mom. She is aggressive to strange dogs, she's never hurt any other dogs but she sounds very scary. She welcomes them all into the pack at home.

Hope it goes well at the vet today. I have a almost 13 yr. old Dobie and she is always getting new lumps and bumps and tags. The first one I found over a year ago I had removed and it was cancerous but she had so many problems with that one after the surgery that I have decided not to keep cutting her up every time a new one pops up. I hate to face the fact that she might not be here forever as she has always been the best dog ever. Actually - I just had her to the vet and she had lost 14 lbs since the last visit so I have been pumping her up with all kinds of food and doggie vitamins and right now she looks better than ever --- even with all the lumps and bumps. So - you could still have your Pinky around for awhile to come - good luck!

Just got home, well, the cyst is still a cyst, she said it may pop and bleed, but to call her if that happens. It's about 2-3 in. around.

The other lump is connected to the lymphnodes, we checked her over really well and they are around her neck and on her chest area. She went all around lymphoma but never said it. She is not a good surgery prospect because of her age and weight(she's about 20lbs. overweight shhhhhhhh). So she said she will recheck her in 6 months and try to get her to lose some pounds. She just said to keep a really close watch on them and any changes call.

It's really hard to deal with, my Mom just passed away from lymphoma 4wks ago and I know it's my dog but it's still hard to hear the word.

So sorry about your Mom, and yes, that would certainly make things even more upsetting with Pinky! Best wishes for you both!

I have an English bulldog that gains weight just looking at food and I found that the Natural Choice Lite by Nutro really trimmed her down and she is keeping the weight off.

BarnMom my thoughts and prayers are with you. This must be really hard having lost your mom so recently but please don't give up hope. She is a beautiful dog and obviously well cared for and she obviously loves you very much. Never underestimate an animal's will to live for their people-miracles do happen
