Sometimes it could be what is in the dog food you feed her. She's probally not getting the nutrition she needs, so she seeks for more higher-proteined foods. I've recalled I've seen a horse eat its own poop, and it disgusted me, and the owners didn't care one bit about her, just gave her the whatever hand throw.
[no offense] . ...Try switching her, and every time she goes for the poop give her a firm "NO!" or take Wanda out first in the backyard to do her business then put her back in and take out the other one. Either way, try switching her food out or give your vet a ring and ask for advise. |

Thanks everyone! I am going to look into the Forbid & Deter stuff because the protein is high in her food & it is already one of the higher priced & highly recommended foods! Wanda's food is a Nike of all dog foods however & I for her specialized kidney stone diet!
I was wondering about it being a pack thing also ... who knows .. nasty though! ![]()

I've got a great trick for anti-poop-munching... 1 tbsp of canned pumpkin on their food at meal times. Just regular old pumpkin.... no spices or anything. Holistic, and works well!

NHiceGSD-I'll have to keep that in mind. I've never heard that before!
I have used the Forbid, I had a dachshund that had that habit too. The Forbid took care of it and I only had to use it for a while.
