Tuesday night my daughter brought home

a Chihuahua! Meet Frankie. I've never had such a tiny critter in the house, except for ones that stay in cages. He's approx 1 yr old, weighs about 3 pounds. Doesn't have the "usual" Chihuahua attitude, he's very friendly, very cuddly, not nippy or yippy at all. He's been here since Tuesday night and he's barked 5 times. He's a funny little guy.

And this Skye. She's 5 yrs old, 52 pounds. Her mother was 1/2 Jack Russell the other half was PitBull and English Bulldog. Her Father was a German Sheperd. She's not quite sure what to make of Frankie, and follows him around a lot, but hasn't threatened him in any way. She's such a good girl!

The cat, Mellow, is 15 pounds and his "cattitude" only allows him to acknowledge Frankie's presence. They have touched noses, then Mellow walks away like "whatever". Thanks for letting me share.

He was her friend's dog, but the friend's mother wanted him gone, she said he barks too much? He's barked 5 times since he's been here. He's very quiet and friendly, the only other Chihuahuas I've ever known have been nippy and yippy. He is cute, I like his eyebrows. I guess we'll keep him.

My daughter brought the girl home who used to have Frankie. So, I asked some questions. This wasn't "her" dog, it was her brothers dog and he just wasn't interested in it. Her mom said that Frankie barked too much. I found out that Frankie barked a lot when he was OUTSIDE , okay, so? We're keeping him. My daughter got him a collar with spikes, and my son has nicknamed him "The Frankenator". So, I guess I'll make an appointment with the vet this week to get him neutered, and my husband will HAVE to get in the habit of looking down before he moves his size 14's. Frankie thanks you for the compliments, I think he's really cute, too.

Slightly off-topic but: Your husband wears a size 14?! Good lord and you know what they say about men with big shoes? Big socks!

Cute dog but I don't think I could deal with one that small. I've never met a nice, quiet chihuahua. I've only seen them prewired for barking and nipping. If yours doesn't - heckuva dog you got there!

Whoa, 14 is a big shoe!

We have 2 chihuahuas and they aren't nippy and they don't bark either. They don't know a stranger actually. But we raised them that way.

I hate all you people who have Chihuahuas! (J/K -- I don't hate you, I'm just jealous. )

Cute. Mine isn't the stereotypical Chihuahua, either... Doesn't bark unlss provoked, or gaurding his mommy... And he's never nipped at anyone but our other Dog.

Naw, it goes like this, "You know what women say about men with big shoes?"

"Ouch!"

Yeah, big stinky size 14 socks to wash . My 12 y/o wears man's size 10 already , and my 5'3" 98# daughter wears a woman's 9 1/2. Don't look at me, I wear a 6!
Jilly Bean - he's not a typical Chi, he's not yappy or nippy, and he cuddles on all of us - even Big Foot! He really figured out quickly who he had to impress first. He climbed into hubby's lap, curled his front paws up to his chest, and gave him that big-eyed "puss-n-boots" look.

I aquired a Chiuahua that very same way, best friend bought him, her mom said he barked a lot, so I took him to keep him from the pound. He's the sweetest dog ever...not yippy and nippy at all. And he doesn't bark much with me either, only when somebody comes home or rings the door bell!
