Update on Duchess - pictures!

Last week, we were going to find her a home with a rescue because our little dogs were having such issues. And, she had a problem with Jason leaving.

After discovering the overpopulation at the rescues and attempting a re-home (Hubby had to go back and get her because she was howling and crying), we decided to put all of our efforts into working with her.

Right now, her only issue is the fact that she's still very attached to hubby, though she's relaxing about it in the house. Oh, and that she's still a little rough with the littles. She puts her mouth on them like puppies do, it's just that her mouth is as big as they are! So, we're working on the idea that it's okay to run and play, but NOT okay to put the mouth on them!

They're getting better with her, too.

She's an extremely smart GSD! Quite the sweetie pie when she tries to wake us up at 5am on a Sunday to play.....

Remember to ask yourself what is it that "I'm" doing wrong when your dog has an issue. If you can figure that one out it's home sailing from there. It would be nice if you could give her a loving home. Remember the past is history, today is a new day. The structure that you are providing with the rules boundaries and limitations and then the affection will make her a balanced dog. Keep plugging away your doing great!

One of these days I'm going to own the perfect dogs. Notice that is plural.

The dog whisperer says they are placed in our lives for a reason. Sometimes I shake my head and ask why I needed a challenge. (Benny is my challenge) It's to help me grow and be a better person. Like Cesar says, "to be a balanced human."

I am glad she is settling in a little and doing better. I know it is really tough, but maybe in a few weeks she will realize that Jason is coming back, and not get so upset when he leaves. How is she doing on housetraining?

She has had a few accidents in the house...once because I thought she wanted to play at 5am .

Other than that, she's mostly got it! No number 2 in the house - ever!

I love that she's letting Tink crawl all over her....

I see total acceptance from the poodle but someone looks a little jealous.

Just keep after them. Treat them like a pack and your the leader.

Everyday is a challenge but pics like these are the rewards.
