Mini/Toy Australian Shepherds

I was wondering if anyone here has ever had or currently has a Mini or Toy Aussie and what you think of them. We currently have two Standard Aussies and love them dearly but they're bigger than what we want to have inside. I don't know anyone personally who has one and thought you guys might be able to help me out.
Thanks!!!

Sorry I found this so late. I have a toy aussie and absolutly love him. He is energetic and smart, and he has a lot of natural herding instinct.

He is 8 months and know sit, lay, shake, and speak. I am currently working on rollover. He will herd a pygmy goat around, and tries to herd the horses (they don't listen though)

He is great in the house, but I do play with him so he can get some of his energy out. He love fetch and tug-of-war. He sleeps on my bed or in a crate and doesn't get in the way like our labs do when they are in the house.

If you have anymore questions, just let me know
oh and here are some pics of Bear

I currently own 2 mini's! Kiwi is a almost 14 inch red tri 2 yo and Kirby is a blue eyed black tri 4 months. They are great dogs as they have the same
ability and personality as the standards but are just smaller. I take
Kiwi riding with me and she has no problems going 5 miles at a pretty good trot before she gets tired. Kirby is already 14 inches at 4 months so she is going to be big! They are easy to train and so far I haven't had any problems with them trying to herd the horses or nipping at their heels. I start introducing them early to the horses (kirby is only allowed around the horses if they are tied and I am around). I would definely recommend the breed if you like the standard size!

Sorry they are so big I tried to resize them but was obviously unsucessfull. (I can't seem to spell either!!!LOL)

Thanks guys,, your dogs are sooo cute!! I've been looking at minis and toys on the internet and boy they are pricey. I had to give my Great Pyranese away last year and then gave my mini Doxie to my son when his beagle died last winter so I would kinda like to have a dog of my own again I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna hold out for a mini or toy Aussie. They're just so adorable and smart.
Here's a pic of our Standards-Dash & Daisy. Dash(the red tri) is my oldest sons dog and Daisy(black tri) is my husbands. They are 8 months old now. It's not great pic but I had to take it through the window. It's really hard to take their picture because they follow me around

Sorry the pic was so big, I should've cropped it before I downloaded it. I'm still trying to figure all of this computer stuff out.

Thanks! We really enjoy them, there's never a dull moment when they're around Dash is still in the chewing and tearing stuff up phase so our yard is usually a wreck and you don't dare leave your shoes on the porch

Mini/Toy Australian Shepherds

If you are interested in a mini Aussie puppy, I can probably help you out. Besides being a breeder, I also do rescue. At the current time, we have closed down a puppy mill and have 50+ Mini Aussies, puppies and adults both, coming into rescue. Not to mention all of the Aussie/Poo mixes that this breeder created . There are also many other small breeds that are going to need placement. Our rescue will be spending the next few months rehabilitating and placing all of these dogs.
I also have an aquaintance that has an oops Mini Aussie litter due within a week. The sire has had his CERF clearance, but is too young for his OFA (the dam has her CERF and OFA). Because of this, she will be selling the puppies at a lesser price than she normally would. Nice thing is, both parents are MDR-1 Normal/Normal, so these puppies won't have any of the drug sensitivities that are common in herding breeds. If you need any info, just contact me.

Thanks for all the info! Starry the pup in your avatar is gorgeous!
I'm still trying to decide if I want to get a house dog right now. We have our house on the market and I can't make my mind up if I want to get one before or after we move. Some buyers are turned off if there are inside pets. Our Doxie is outside for the summer because she WILL NOT stop pottying inside When the weather turns cold she'll probably be banished to the utility room. We've tried everything to house break her but she extremely stubborn. She crate trained wonderfully but if we put her outside to go potty she'll wait until she comes back inside to "go" (I probably should've started another thread just for her) So that is why I'm reluctant to get a pup until we move or take the house off the market.
