Hair Loss . . . fleas or age?

I have a six year old Spaniel mix (lab, cocker, and golden) and she has two big spots on her coat that is missing hair . . . I treated that for fleas but then I was brushing her and the fur on her chest just started coming out. It barely needs to be touched for big chunks to come out. Its this from fleas, allergies, or is it from getting older?????

It could be a lot of things, allergies, mange...you may need to take your dog to the vet, to get some meds to help.

Age doesn't cause hairloss in animals like it does in humans, so I would check with the vet to rule out fleas, allergies, ringworm, etc.

I had a lab mix that lost her hair from a thyroid problem.....not necessarily something that the vet might initially check, but could be worth a try.
Good luck!

That is usually not flea areas. I would have a vet look at it. Could be mange or allergies. Could be thyroid too.
