Some days don't go well...vent

Some days don't go well and today was one of them
and why does it happen when my hormones are way off the chart. (That time of the month )

The day started with well you know woman issues. Then we are having a heat wave. 9am and I'm melting. I run around and make sure everyone has water then I run in the house to escape the heat only it's just as hot in the house. Around 1:00 I ask my son who has taken over my computer to help me. I want to drag the hose out of the basement. I ended up tackling the gigantic spiders on my own. Just as I turn on the hose the dogs start barking, son is upset and yelling at them. Guess they were disturbing him. I walk to the window and look to see who is here. IT"S THE SHERIFF!! It would appear I've been turned in for animal abuse and neglect.
My son's Aussie has been having health issues so I shaved him. Well lets say he went from looking bad to looking worse. He was shedding at the time and his new hair isn't growing back in. It appears I'm in trouble for him being under weight, with no water, and covered in flies with sores around his neck.

Pretty bad huh! I'm guilty as charged. He's so hyper that I can't keep him in his kennel he's an escape artist so I chained him to a tree. His chain keeps swiping his water bowl and flinging it who knows where so I tied a pail to a near by tree and was in the process of filling it when I got caught in the act. (He had already been fed and watered earlier.) Because he's so hyper and because I shaved him he's developing sores around his neck from where he's lunging on his line as he goes around and around and round the tree. As for the flies I have horse fly spray that I use on him but hadn't sprayed him yet as they weren't bad when I last saw him. The good thing is he's up to date on his shots.

The days not over. OK so I got off with a warning. I read the riot act to my son as Benny is his dog. Poor kid, today was his birthday. Benny is his responsibility. I came down harder on him then I probably should have. But I wanted him to know that we could loose everything if he doesn't take care of his dog. He's darn lucky that mom was doing it for him.

My toy poodle puppies are 31/2 weeks old and wandering all over. I put them back in their box one hundred times a day. Today one of them decided he likes to sleep under hubby's rocker recliner. You guessed it. My son rocked as he climbed out of the chair and crushed the puppies foot. I think he's going to loose a toe. Again son gets the riot act.

We were going to take him out for a game of miniature golf and ice cream only a major storm blew through so we changed our plans and went out for pizza instead.

Husband is in a state of shock (contract is up at work and they voted to strike.) Poor kid had to put up with mom's PMS and animal stressing and dad's burdens as well.

Oh ya and I lost a promising peacock chick today. Oh well at least I still have the adults. Maybe next year.

I am so sorry you had all this happen - some days it seems like nothing goes right I know its VERY hard to see right now but you will one day look back at all this and know that you and your family worked all through this stuff. On the bright side it sounds like you have a wonderful husband and son and lots of critters to love so you will all get through this rough patch together.

Prayers and (((((Hugs))))) sent your way from Texas...

Sorry about your day. Is there something going around? I am so glad it is Friday. First, my 1 year old grandson has to go into the hospital for surgery, my cousin goes into the hosiptal with heart trouble, my car's air conditioning goes and then the one in the house is not doing very well either. My husband comes in from work this morning and the brakes on his truck are going. Someone, please make it stop!

Oh, I have days exactly like that one. I don't cycle at all normally and at times I am quite a monster...I think maybe we should all go back to the whole menstrual taboo, get our alone tent and not have to take care of anyone at that time..."sorry I can't make you supper, find your socks, or help you in anyway... I am unclean" then duck back into your tent and eat chocolate and read
Poor Mama...big hug, cuppa tea (iced of course)

Oh farmergal! I'm sorry you had such a rough day... I know what it's like when the pups are old enough to crawl out and are getting everywhere.. .one of my litters liked to crawl to my desk in the other room and curl up underneath it.

I had someone call animal control on me just about two weeks ago... someone told them I had 18 dogs living in my garage......not many people knew I had that exact number at that time, and I had just added the last two a few days before.... they barely spent 2 minutes at my house after they saw that I answered the door surronded by an entourage.. she almost seemed apolgetic. I offered to show her everybody and she did not feel the need to.

What really got me was WHAT IF I had 18 dogs living in my garage; what is the big deal with that IF they are all taken care of, fed, watered, etc... why was that a complaint, especially when I have a kennel license... they know I have a large number of dogs... now if the complaint was I wasn't taking care of them, they were neglected, abused, etc, the garage was dirty, filthy, whatever.... it would be one thing, but what consitutes coming out when the complaint simply is that I have 18 dogs in my garage.....

My garage is clean, air conditioned in the summer, heated in the winter, and has 6 crates in it for feeding time. My dogs eat in shifts and they eat seperately; I take water away for an hour before and after feeding, and they will normally lay in their crates and rest after they eat, because I am very wary about bloat (my dogs are all large and giant breeds). My garage floor is normally so clean you can just about eat off it, as are my crates... we have a thing for cleaniness here, and with 18 dogs, you have to stay on top of it...

I hope you have a better day today!

Funny post Beezwing. Thank goodness I don't have those days anymore, just every once in awhile I will get bad migraines during the month. Right now in my life, house phone is acting weird-no signal, computer has to be set in yahoo.com to gain access to internet, security alert keeps popping up and I am afraid to try to download anti-virus system til my daughter gets here she has been moving their stuff to new boyfriend's.Sometimes if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.

I have tons of financial stress, and stress about my baby brother leaving for college 10 hours away in a couple weeks, my grandma has been sick, raising my kids, etc etc etc etc. The list is endless!! I am sorry about your day, farmergirl!!! Chin Up, there is always tomorrow!! And, "Happy Birthday" to your son!!!!!

Your not going to believe this. I was sitting here reading your posts when this lady pulls in. She is a stranger that has been coming and feeding my dogs biscuits. I have confronted her a few times before. She complained to me about the way Benny looked in the past and I explained to her nicely the trouble I've been having with him. Well I guess that wasn't good enough as she admitted to me today when I asked her if she called and she said yes. She is guilty. Husband is home as his workplace is on strike so he walks up to the lady and in his kind (ya right ) way told her what he thought of her turning us in. He took down her licence plate number and asked her for her name. She got really nervous. (hehe! serves her right) The Gaul of some people. Turn me in and continue to come like nothing happened. After we read the riot act to her we managed to straighten things out. Smooth things over as they say.

Thumbs up

Ya, he just stepped in the house and we were rehashing the conversation we had with her. I told him he came down on her just right....hard! WaWaWa! (that is so unlike me.)
