Dog Gone Husbands

You would think after 10 years of marriage that my husband would have figured out that if one of my animals needs a vet I am calling him. So my great dane, who has dilated cardiomyopathy, starts acting a little off last night. He acts like his whole body hurts, he is not following me around with his nose up my butt. So I know that something is wrong. I check him out, all I can find is a raw spot underneath his paw that he has been licking. So first thing this morning I call out the vet. He comes out and sure enough he has a staph infection from this spot on his paw. Some antibiotics, a shot of baytril, predisone and b12 vitamins and we are back in business. So I call the hubby and let him know what is up with my baby. His first response, I knew you were going to call the vet for that D**N dog. I said, I sure did and I am glad I did. I can't risk anything going undetected with the heart condition that he has. Husbands, will they ever learn!!

A woman and her animals are inseparatable....a woman and her man are not.....

So glad your baby is going to be fine....

No, because more often the not the husbands just wish they had all the attention.

Exactly. My husband is the same way. All ticked off because I spent an hour in the barn helping a first time freshener have her kid on his birthday. I mean, really, they have the REST of our time.

I'm glad your boy is going to be okay!

Oh, I am so glad somebody else is complaining about their husband! Mine hates animals!! He hates the dogs, the cats, the horses and even the bird! What did he think was going to happen when he started dating me? I mean my main job at the time was teaching dog obedience and showing dogs! Did he think after we got married and had kids I'd give up the animals!?!?! HELL NO!! However, I do have to admit, he did just buy me a new truck to pull my trailer

Mine is very tolerant of all of our animals except my great dane. The dane is a very one person dog and that one person is me. He hates when my husband gets anywhere near me and attempts to get in between us. But from what I hear that is just a great dane thing. I love the big guy, the dane that is. Ok I love my husband too, but the animals can't help themselves whereas my husband can get up and get a drink or something to eat anytime he wants to.

I'm glad I'm not the only one either. My hubby hates animals! He cares about their welfare and all, he just doesn't want any in the yard or house. I'm just glad I have my horse Sugar. He did come out to see her with me and he does ask about her when I get home from the barn.

I'm glad your furbaby is okay.
