The news on tv said that he was "tired of him." I don't know where the website got "he forgot him." But you know how stories get around.

That poor little dog. The news said they were putting him to sleep if someone didn't step up and adopt him. If they adopt him then they have to pay for all of the vet bills/care, etc. He's so close to me... I should take him... but I just got a new dog. I feel so bad.

I don't understand it either... ... and to think, I am a Chihuahua owner and I love my dog dearly. This is Brutus, my black and tan, CKC registered, two year old Chihuahua stud laying in my arms like a baby:

I live here in Pensacola where this horrible atrocity occurred. The dog is going to be adopted out IF his owner will relinquish him to the authorities. He still has to appear in court. Personally, I think he relinquished his rights to the pup when he "forgot" he was tied to his truck. He took the dog to work with him and told the authorities he "forgot" because he was so tired after working. Good thing he didn't pick the baby up from daycare and leave him in his carrier on top of his car!!!! Stupid idiot. Not to worry, he'll be well cared for by whomever adopts him. I'll bet he can't prove he's been vaccinated or on heartworm meds. either. ARRRGGGHHH!!!!

The news last night said they had hundreds of calls of folks who were willing to pay the bills and adopt him. They will get him surrendered the first time he goes to court.
Rescue is a hard job. IF[note the IF} an animal is terribly injured and requires huge amounts of money put into them to go on to an unknown future..well sometimes they are euthenised. It is a case of X amounts of money and 100X animals to care for.
They are not heartless-they grieve too.

I, personally, couldn't read the articles after hearing "4 month old Chihuahua" and "dragged behind a truck." My gut just sank. That's my favorite breed of dog, and such a tiny creature, and no creature for that matter, deserves that treatment. If Pensacola wasn't so blasted far away from Melbourne.....

Paige, didn't know if you got to see my new little guy:

Seriously.. How could someone hurt any animal, big or small, when they are so loving and loyal to us?? It just makes me sick.

KatieMae, that puppy is absolutely ADORABLE! I agree with you 110% about the issue. I think the guy should be treated exactly how his dog was treated and nothing better. Going to jail for a few months is NOTHING compared to how this puppy will suffer and has suffered.

Kristina, you live about an hour and a half from me.

T.Mom, I'm glad to know so many people are showing interest in helping this poor boy!

Instead of the adopters paying the vet bills they should make the abuser pay the vet bills, he caused it, he should pay!! That poor little guy deserves a good home!! I hope he gets adopted!
