Favorite Breed?

O.k everyone, I did a thread on your favorite breed of horse so now... what's the canine breed of your dreams? For me it's Danes all the way but I also like Alaskan Malamutes, Dalmatians, German Short-Haired Pointers & Boxers to name just a few. I love all dogs, as I'm sure most of you do, but I do have my preferences. What are all of yours?

Favorite Breed?

Well I am lucky enough to have my dream dogs....Australian Shepherds and Collies. However, everyone's favorite "breed" around here is our goofy Pyrenees/Border Collie cross. People who come to purchase puppies always end up wanting to take him home instead. My sister is threatening that when she moves in down the road next year, she is going to "steal" him . So let's hear it for the mutts too...one of the best "breeds" you can own.

My favorite breed has got to be pits. My boyfriend gave me a red nose pit puppy for my birthday a few months back and he is one heck of a dog. Smart, loyal, loving, energetic, but still loves to lay in bed with us at night and sleep at the foot of our bed.

I love Newfoundlands! You all know my pup Yeti, she sure does test me, but I love her anyway!

I also have to agree that mutts are awesome.

I like all breeds of dogs, I'm a 'dog' person for sure.

The only breeds I can say that I DON'T like (and this is not meant to be a bash of any breed, it's just my personal opinion): I don't like yorkies, dalmatians, or blue heelers. I'm sure there are good dogs of those breeds out there, I would just never own them... not my cup of tea.

I love jack russell terriers, I have one and he's an absolute doll. I love pit bulls too, I've seen many many good pit bulls and wouldn't hesitate to own one myself (except they eat a lot!! well, at least compared to a jack. ). I really really like boxers and german shorthairs, I believe our next dog is going to be a GSH because my old man wants a hunting dog and they make great gun dogs.

My favorite breed is the Norwegian Elkhound! They are very intelligent, and built to do just about anything. We had a female until she died a few months ago from the pet recall (And I thought feeding Nutro Ultra was good for my dogs). My husband eventually wants to import one or two and breed/show, but for right now we just have 2 mutts. I also love the big dogs, Danes, Shepherds, Newfies, Mastiffs. The more they drool, the more I seem to love them... I must be crazy.

Hey Miss L, you should see how much my pitbull eats! He just turned 5 months old, weighs 40 pounds, and eats about 5 cups of food a day! My basset/lab cross only gets 2 cups of food a day. The bf only buys the best food (read: expensive!!) for our dogs, so talk about being eaten out of your home!

This is a tough one. Although I love all big dogs, my faves are GSP's, Boxers, and Dobermans. I don't really like small dogs as I find them yappy and prone to biting.

Hands down, the English Bull Terrier, just like Spuds McKenzie and the Target dog. I fell in love with this breed when I was just a kid, and saw the ORIGINAL version of Disney's The Incredible Journey. Ole Bodger dog was an English Terrier. Alas, a purebred has never been in my price range, and almost all of the rescue ones available need/should be the only dog in the family.....and I always have other dogs. Generally, a Jack Russell or two.....so, , for practicality, Jacks would be my fav, although those pound pooches really pull at my hearstrings.

Mutts above and beyond all others, but Rottweilers have been a constant part of my life.I have had as many as 11 at 1 time. Now I am sadly down to my 2yo "Fluffy".I have a male Min Pin"Buddy Lee" and my faithful mutt "Kowgurl"
If I were to promote a breed it would without a doubt be a good ole' POUND PUPPY

I love huskies of any type. I love all big dogs and would like to own a dane, burmese mountain dog or bull mastiff. A Rottie would be nice too. . . I could go on.
I love big dogs. The small ones are nice too, but I personally would never own one.

Siberian Huskies are my favorite. They were introduced to me by my hubby, Mark

lately, I have to add Bichons. I've had Crystal for a few months now, and she stole my heart.

I love Miniature Pinschers, I'm biased because I have one. I also love Chihauhaus, Great Danes, and Greyhounds. I would have one of each if I could

I love most dogs, but I'm partial to Border Collies and mutts. Ever since i was little, I've wanted a dog where you can't tell what breed he is; you just saw him at the pound and he was cute so you took him.

COLLIES!!! I LOVE my Collies! They are the most loving, wonderful, and amazing family dogs. Of course our Border Collie mix is one of the best dogs in the world too!
