Meet the Devil Incarnate

Oh, he may look cute, but he is the devil. If he didn't look exactly like Benji, he would have been brought to the pound months ago!

Here's his picture so you know what satan looks like:

Little Man Higgins. So cute, so bad.

Oh there is a list! Besides eating the couch, the walls, the baseboard, unlimited number of shoes, shirts, socks and bathroom rugs, he also likes to bark like a beagle, attack the cats and destroy the $600 down comforter when you are not looking.

I'll tell you what though - he can be the sweetest dog RIGHT AFTER he does something naughty. He so knows what he gets away with.

Oh but I love the little bugger. That picture is my computer wallpaper, he is trying to look so innocent. Don't let it fool you!

LOL....I am still chuckling just to look at that FACE!!!! You get no sympathy from me , just another enabler. I have gone thru several of the senarios you describe, and get angry at the moment, but soon am laughing and loving on the pooch. I once had an epiphany....hmmmm, do you think the pooch does naughty stuff cause he gets all that laughing and loving afterward??????? It's gotten better with age (the pooch, not me, I am beyond training). Good luck.......I gotta go back and look at that face!

He has become MUCH better since he turned a year old. That dog is the luckiest thing to have made it to his first birthday!

The funniest thing is, is when we have company, he turns into the best dog ever. Everyone wants to take him home, they think he is so wonderful. We then show them the eaten wall and they change their minds

You have trained him well. I've never been able to get a dog to do all those destructive acts of behaviour. I must be doing something wrong.

Could he be suffering from seperation anxiety? There are meds and herbs out there that can help with that. Have you tried crate training him? He's very cute!

Oh it's not separation anxiety since most of these things happen when we are home He has gotten much better and he is crated (now only at night).

He's a jack russel/beagle cross - it's in his genes to be bad

In fact, he is downstairs right now chewing on his stainless steel bowl. Not too smart.

That dog face says only "it wasn't me"-and I believe him.

I think it was the dog in the background of the picture, or perhaps one of those spiteful little fairies who makes the messes for which we parents blame our innocent kids.

But, no, it was not that sweet faced litle dog!

Have you tried giving him cow hooves to chew on? Their fairly cheap ($1 each in my area) it wont hurt him like the rawhides can. AND to keep him even busier, you can fill them with peanutbutter! I gave them to all my dogs when they were puppies/young dogs. It really keeps the chewing under control.

I agree with TXHORSEMOM, try giving him something to chew on. Or get him a hyper friend so they can chew on each other!

That dog is too cute for words! Take from someone who has wanted to KILL everyone of the puppies, the second year is better than the first, the third is better still and by 5 you do not remember what they ever did wrong. At least he is not using the cats as a chew toy!

Oh no, he does that too. Poor Simon (our siamese) taunts him and then Higgins pins him. No one gets hurt, just a little slobbery after.

He is actually a very good dog who unfortunately has his sensors set on destroy.

And in regards to his chewing - we don't give cow hooves as they splinter but he has a huge laundry basket that is his "toy box" filled with proper toys. He knows you have no emotional attachment to the nylabone so why would he chew on that?!! And he has three other dog brothers here who play with him daily PLUS his daily walk so he gets exercise. Right now he is at my feet eating a Merrick Filled bone, so he is happy.

He is just a puppy who will grow out of it. I know that, I just think for a dog as cute as he is, he can be so awful.

Speaking of cats as chew toys... heh... We took my Lab puppy to the vet this past weekend, and there are 3 cats that pretty much own the clinic... One of them being a rather large, furry, orange cat named Berneese. When we arrived to the vet, said orange cat was up on the counter. We sat down and waited for our turn to see the vet, and the cat decides to come down and visit our puppy... As soon as the cat turned her back and waved her furry tail in our puppy's face, puppy grabbed ahold of kittie's tail and wouldn't let go until kittie turned around and batted puppy in the face... Such trouble makers...
