New Addition!!

Well, yesterday we had a new boarder arrive at our barn... A close friend of my barn owner's trailered the horse down from Tennessee, and when she came down to FL, she brought her 8 week old Lab puppies... She had 2 blacks, and 2 chocolates... The little female was for sale and a low price because she has white on her, and I decided.. What the heck, my boyfriend loves labs and she's absolutely adorable... So here she is, our unnamed new puppy.. I'm open to suggestions for names

Um, I believe the correct term is "African American" labs . . .

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I'll never forget the a couple of Olympics ago there was some event in which a dark-skinned woman won gold, but she was from France or Spain or something, and the announcer said, "This is the first time an African American has won the gold . . . " We go so far overboard with political correctness it can be humorous.

Roxy is a cute name, of course I'm biased, because that's my Min Pin's name. I spelled her name with an 'ie' though.

The white spots has more to do with how the color forms on the dog not the genes. The color starts on the top and works its way down...sometimes it doesn't get enough of the way around and you get the white spot on toes and chest. So if you want to breed a parti marked dog, you need the white to be in others spots then those, as those dogs are genetically solid...most of the time.
So while white spots are not allowed by breed standard, it is not an indication of mixed breeding.

Very cute. I love the name.
Yes labs can have white and other colours on them, it is a fault. Labs can even be marked like a rottie as well (brown paws, cheast and the eyebrows)

ETA: Here is a website with the missmark colours dogs can have.
