Sore on roof of mouth

Any ideas on how I can get a sore on the roof of Truckers mouth to hurry up and heal? It's way in the back of his mouth almost to end of the cartiage that forms the roof of the mouth. I keep telling him not to run with sticks in his mouth but he won't listen.

I'm already soaking his dog food and such but it seems everytime it starts to scab over he tears the scab off.

Is there anything I can put on it or make him eat to help it to heal quicker?

Beth, I don't really know of anything. Does it seem infected? How long has he had it?

It started out as a puncture wound 3-4 weeks ago. From running with a stick in his mouth. The puncture part has healed and know it's just a flat sore about 3/4" across. It will scab over but as soon as he eats something the scab comes off. It seems to be stuck where it's at.

And he's a wimp which doesn't help things out.

I can't come up with anything that would help either. You could try to put soemthing on it but it wouldn't stay long enough to do any good at all and would probably just tick the poor guy off.

You could try putting some peroxide in a syringe and squirting it on the wound. Won't hurt him if he swallows a little of it. I did this to a cat with a sore mouth and it seemed to heal it up.
I use peroxide as a mouth wash and it works great!
