My Lab Saved The Day!
Last Monday my female Jack Russell became very sick. I rushed her to the vet and she was diagnosed with Eclampsia (calcium deficiency). Bad news was that now I would have to bottle feed her 8 puppies who were not quite 3 weeks old.
I ran to the store and bought goat milk, baby bottles, etc....they wanted NOTHING to do with it. Then in a last ditch effort, I called in my female Lab who had just weaned her 7 week old puppies....and it worked! She has been nursing my jack puppies for the past week and doing a great job!  Mama Jack is doing fine with her treatment, but misses her puppies. I let my Lab nurse them and then let the mama come behind and clean them up. She's happy with that arrangement and I get to sleep at night!!!

It is amazing to read stories where animals have done that when mother has problems or babies have been abandoned. Labs are great!!

Yes I am very lucky and the puppies are really, really lucky! They have enough milk to last until the cows come home!!!

My daughter has 2 pit bulls,a rottweiler,2 chichuhas and is doggie sitting a puggle(pug/beagle mix).
