Unhappy RIP Cinco

Our little dog, Cinco, passed away last night. We adopted Cinco from the animal shelter when she was about 6 months old, and she was 14 years old when she died (she would have turned 15 in December). She had a good, long, happy life. She was the first dog my husband and I ever got together, and although she could be a real stinker when she wanted to be, she was still our baby, and she will be missed. The poor thing had started having strokes, so we knew we probably didn't have much time left with her, but no matter how much you try to prepare yourself, it's never easy to say goodbye. I'm just grateful that she was able to go peacefully in her sleep in her own bed here at home, and she is now pain free.

Our little granddaughter just loved her. Cinco was just the right size for her!

RIP Cinco. We'll miss you!

Thank you all so much for your caring and compassionate words. Yesterday was very difficult for me, and your hugs and kind words helped so much. It seemed so strange when I got home from work yesterday not to find Cinco sitting by the door waiting for me like she has always done for so many years. I'm just so glad that she was able to be a big part of our lives for so many years. We have lots of wonderful memories of our little pound puppy.

Thank you, she was a cutie, even with all that old lady gray on her face. We actually have no idea what breed(s) she was. We got her from the animal shelter, and anything that they weren't sure about, they just listed as a terrier mix, so that's what we were told she was. We think she probably had some beagle in her. We also think she might have been part dachshund, and who knows what else. All we know is that she was part of our family and we loved her.
