Can you see anything from this picture? Added more

Since its so hard for me to get a good confo shot, this one at the show and about the best I can get posted for now. He is standing almost square (maybe a little less on the back legs), but what do you see "wrong" conformationally with my yearling and ways to improve the faults? Here is his info.
15 month old APHA gelding
14.2hh at the withers, 14.3 1/2hh at the hip

Current use: local showing for fun in halter and color classes
Future use: Not sure, but leaning towards English events. He is for sale, so not sure if I will even have him when he is ready to be ridden.
Any insight/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Pic taken 5/3/08

Taken today-My washrack is uneven,he isnt that butt high

How to Critique Horses - read this if you want to comment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the rules about how to critique horses in the conformation clinic. Please check back here as this forum progresses since we will be making updates as we go along.

1. Be honest but friendly.
All horses have flaws -- you can certainly point them out. BUT, do not say things in a way that could be construed as rude or overly negative.
Keep all comments focused on the horse. Do not say anything critical about the owner.

2. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Just like how all horses have flaws, they all have good points. If you have something negative to say, be sure to also include a positive comment.
Keep things friendly -- give your comments the way you would if a good friend asked you for your opinion.

3. If you don't have anything conformation-related to say, please PM the horse's owner instead of replying in here.
People posting in this area are looking for conformation-related responses. Even if you're not well versed in conformation, please don't be shy about trying to critique the horse or ask questions about his/her conformation. But, since this is the conformation clinic, please make sure your response does pertain to conformation! Comments such as "he sure is pretty!" should be made via PM if you aren't also commenting on the horse's conformation.

4. People WILL say things you disagree with.
Keep your comments focused on your own ideas, and not reactions to other people's posts.
If you think you'll be bothered by seeing comments that you think are "wrong" - then don't visit this forum!!!
It is not your job to convince everyone that your opinion is correct. Say what you believe and let others come to their own conclusions.

If people have trouble following these rules, we will make critiquing by invitation only.

I like this guy. He is VERY cute

What I like most: he has a very decent shoulder, low hocks, decent hip, refined head, and FLASHY color!

He looks a tad sickle hocked, but that is not always bad especially depending on what discipline he does later. So, I don't feel that is a biggie at all.

The only thing that I don't like is the big muscle on the bottom side of his neck. Does he carry his head fairly high all the time? When you show halter, try to keep his head down lower. That will reduce the appearance of the muscle and make his neck look more refined.

I like him! What is his breeding?

His pedigree
I had him hold his head so I could hide behind him No, its usually lower, but still higher than I like it.We are working on it. What else can you see out of the ordinary with him.

All in all a nice rounded looking fellow...A few areas that I caught.

A bit tight in the throatlatch, the angle of head to neck attachment as you would said is kinda closed...I think he may have to work at flexing along his poll. (He is young, could be wrong here).

Shoulder to front pasterns angles slightly off, with a touch more pastern than I like. Although he does show range with that nice shoulder and neck tie in.

He appears ever so slightly behind at the knee...again could be placement and or growth. No biggy really.

Body looks great along top and bottom lines...Nice hip

Very tight upright stifle, some is growth but some is how he is built. Perhaps maybe sickle hocked, not sure but very upright on the hocks and rear pasterns which again are just a bit lengthy for me. I also see just a tad bit of uneveness in those hocks...could be ground, how he is stand or just current growth...something I would watch.

So, again nice looking fellow...would be interested in seeing him again in about a year, or just before going under saddle.

If its not pouring like it has the last 3 days, im going to get some pics of him on the level concrete and squared up better. And put up a video so I can get some insight to his movement as well. Its so hard to take pictures by myself. He wants to turn his head to look at me or fiddle around with the lead rope. The little stinker
