Freedom: coming 3 yo QH/draft

Before you respond with a critique, please make sure you thoroughly understand the guidelines. If you haven't already done so, please read them here:

http://forum.horsetopia.com/viewtopic.php?t=5936

Breed: Quarter horse/draft (belgian/percheron)
Age: 2 (will be 3 on July 4)
Gender: stallion (soon to be gelding)
Height: at least 16 hands (he's not too sure of the tape and won't stand still)
Horse's current job and future intended uses: his current job is lookin' pretty, future job possibly hunter/jumper type (any other suggestions are welcome).
Additional Information: He has the personality of a big puppy dog. He hadn't been worked with much, so he still acts like a baby in a lot of ways. It doesn't take much to correct him and there's not a mean bone in his body (at least I haven't found one yet).

Here are the rules about how to critique horses in the conformation clinic. Please check back here as this forum progresses since we will be making updates as we go along.

1. Be honest but friendly.
All horses have flaws -- you can certainly point them out. BUT, do not say things in a way that could be construed as rude or overly negative.
Keep all comments focused on the horse. Do not say anything critical about the owner.

2. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Just like how all horses have flaws, they all have good points. If you have something negative to say, be sure to also include a positive comment.
Keep things friendly -- give your comments the way you would if a good friend asked you for your opinion.

3. If you don't have anything conformation-related to say, please PM the horse's owner instead of replying in here.
People posting in this area are looking for conformation-related responses. Even if you're not well versed in conformation, please don't be shy about trying to critique the horse or ask questions about his/her conformation. But, since this is the conformation clinic, please make sure your response does pertain to conformation! Comments such as "he sure is pretty!" should be made via PM if you aren't also commenting on the horse's conformation.

4. People WILL say things you disagree with.
Keep your comments focused on your own ideas, and not reactions to other people's posts.
If you think you'll be bothered by seeing comments that you think are "wrong" - then don't visit this forum!!!
It is not your job to convince everyone that your opinion is correct. Say what you believe and let others come to their own conclusions.

If people have trouble following these rules, we will make critiquing by invitation only.

I really like him. He has a very sweet look about him. He's proportioned nicely from what I can see. His legs look really clean (except for the back left which is toed out with the way he's standing), and wow those are some big feet he has there! He looks like he'd do well with what you want to use him for. Maybe even TR level once he has some miles on him. Nice job with this one.

ETA: He also has a nice natural headset at a canter. Now that I look at that leg again, its like that in all the pics, is that how it always is?

WOW!! I absolutely love him!! Can I have him??!! I think he is very beautiful. He's put together real nice. He seems a little thick in the throatlatch, and it looks like his feet need a trim, but other than that, I think he's great!

He is pretty, but he does toe in a lot on the front unless it is the picture. What did the farrier say?

I think most if not all of the toeing in is actually due to the picture, he kept turning right before I took it. In the first picture of his front end they look pretty straight to me. He does need a trim and the farrier has not seen him yet, but we are scheduling him to come soon. He is actually owned by a friend, I am training him for her and she gave me permission to post pictures. I'm trying to improve my conformation judging skills and wanted to see what you all thought of him.
Appy_527: if you really want him pm me.

The only real faults I see are a straight shoulder (leads to choppy movement) and his back looks a bit long, but I think he will grow into it. Nice looking guy!

(I'm ignoring the feet subject for the time being)
