QH Mare

Breed: Foundation QH
Age: 15
Gender: Mare
Height: 14hands
Horse's current job and future intended uses: Light trail riding; mabey a competetion every once in a while. A past injury has made her limp every once in a while.... Right now she is my daughters gardian angel
Additional Information:
Sassy is a fat horse. VERY chubby in the pictures, but not as bad as before. She wasn't worked much last year-resulting in her eating all day. We are working on that problem. She was shown in wp, but rarely anymore

P.S.: sorry about the pic sizes and quality(daughter took pics..) Tell me if you guys need more pics too

Here are the rules about how to critique horses in the conformation clinic. Please check back here as this forum progresses since we will be making updates as we go along.

1. Be honest but friendly.
All horses have flaws -- you can certainly point them out. BUT, do not say things in a way that could be construed as rude or overly negative.
Keep all comments focused on the horse. Do not say anything critical about the owner.

2. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Just like how all horses have flaws, they all have good points. If you have something negative to say, be sure to also include a positive comment.
Keep things friendly -- give your comments the way you would if a good friend asked you for your opinion.

3. If you don't have anything conformation-related to say, please PM the horse's owner instead of replying in here.
People posting in this area are looking for conformation-related responses. Even if you're not well versed in conformation, please don't be shy about trying to critique the horse or ask questions about his/her conformation. But, since this is the conformation clinic, please make sure your response does pertain to conformation! Comments such as "he sure is pretty!" should be made via PM if you aren't also commenting on the horse's conformation.

4. People WILL say things you disagree with.
Keep your comments focused on your own ideas, and not reactions to other people's posts.
If you think you'll be bothered by seeing comments that you think are "wrong" - then don't visit this forum!!!
It is not your job to convince everyone that your opinion is correct. Say what you believe and let others come to their own conclusions.

If people have trouble following these rules, we will make critiquing by invitation only.

i know absolutely nothing about correct comformation but i know what i like and i think shes very nice...i love that show pic in her summer coat (its really hard to tell much in a heavy winter coat, but i posted my mare the same time as you did and mine is in her winter woolies too!) i love her stockiness and like you said she could stand to tone up a little but i'm sure come summer she will shape up. I like her overall look and pretty color too

LOL, she is a fat horse... from the little I know about conformation, other than being a bit chubby, she looks nice, her neck ties in nice and her legs look good (to me) but I know very little.

BTW, is that a child leading her in the one pic? It makes her look a bit bigger than 14h... I mean, like a 17h warmblood or something... lol...

yeah; a child is leading her(7y/o) She's lost weight since we got our new pony; and we've ridden her consistently.I'll try to find a updated pic.

Yes, I would like some new pictures, of her shedded out. One from the side squared and front and rear. Those first 3 just do no do her justice...I like the fourth one but not enough to really give a good conformation critique.

I love her build. Short and stout is how I like all of my horses. She also has the cutest, most gentle face...I love that first picture, it looks like her winking.

I agree, a good confirmation picture would be great. I am very interested to see how she looks now.

Good things: Sweet face, nice loin coupling, good front legs. I also like her rump but I would like the croup to be a bit longer. She's a bit long in the back but not terribly, and she is level.

The only "bad things" I see are sickle hocks in one picture, slightly camped out in another, a straight shoulder, and a thick neck/throatlatch.
