I don't know. I've never thought to check and see if he was ever bred or sired any foals. All I know is that he was gelded sometime before 1999 when he was sold to his previous owners.

What a sturdy boy!
I can definitely see the halter horse inside of him! Nice overall balance, exceptional bone. Legs look sturdy and straight. Feet could be a little on the small side, but not too bad. Neck has a little dip at the withers, this is a muscling issue more than conformation. Very good hind end with well-muscled gaskin. Pretty head. Neck may be a little short for his body, with back a little longer than ideal. Yup, looks like the perfect horse to get fit and take to the 4-H shows and trail ride. Looks like he could be a decent weight-carrying horse for a larger rider. I also think he looks like he could excel as a working cow/ranch horse.

Flashy - he would work for roping - what a head horse he would make...

Nice big sturdy boy, which is what I like to see in my geldings. Love his bone mass and structure, big hip and rear for lots of power, legs set up underneath and good length to his back. I would like to see a little more width in the withers, and a little more length on the neck. A little cleaner throat latch, which is why I asked if he was kept at stud. That could account for what I see as far as the neck and throatlatch. All in all, a very nice big using gelding that I would definitely do cow work on, or take on the trails.

Nice looking boy.
He's under muscled in the hind end right now, a little out of proportion to my taste. Then again, I am into big-butted hunters. His pastern angles don't quite match his shoulder angle...maybe lead to a slightly choppier gait. Ditto with the length of his back...no rocking horse canter, but not a significant problem. Front and hind angles are a good match...not seeing any interference, and he's got quite a nice shoulder slope, he must be quite the athlete! His chest is very broad, well-muscled. For that reason, I don't see him being a super prospect for anything requiring a lot of lateral work...dressage/reining are maybe not a good mix...but he looks way powerful, so cutting, penning, roping...as long as he isn't being judged on the "pretty" of his lateral work, he'd do great! Neck is a bit on the short side to make a big impression as a hunter...but he has a lovely strong look that wouldn't keep him entirely out of the ring. I'd say 4-H is a brilliant choice for him, expose him to lots of exercise and attention and give him a chance to find his calling! |
