WOW! Where to start? When I first read the description that said 3 day eventing, wp and barrels I went? HUH? But once the pictures came up I said that boy can do what ever he wants to. He is built that well IMO at least whatever that's worth. I'm not sure how well he can carry his head and neck level but he shoud be able to carry it decent for lower level competition. Does he by any chance have a bit of Three Bars in him? He sure does look like Orren Mixer's QH painting.

The second picture really doesn't do him justice, he's standing as if he's about to step forward so everything is out of line on it.

He does have a bit of a thick neck that ties in a bit low to his shoulder, but it's plenty long enough and he has the body to carry it so balance shouldn't be an issue. His back is just the right length and he certainly isn't lacking any substance in his shoulder or in his hip. He looks to have quite the powerhouse behind him. His angles all match up about as well as one could ask for. His knees and hocks are set nice and low to the ground and he has nice bone.

He looks to be the kind of horse to hold up under hard work and not break down. He does have a bit of a sour look to him in the second picture but maybe he just doesn't like having his picture taken. Or maybe he's hungry? He doesn't look like he's missed a meal lately either.

I like his build - a little short backed for some I am sure, but not for me. Powerful is the word that comes to mind when I look at his build. Very nice.

Personally, I love a short-backed horse. They're handier for barrel racing, and don't tend to shoulder as badly as some longer-bodied horses do. His neck is thick, and he looks to be a tad out behind (though it could just be the picture, it is in both pictures) and over or cut-out behind the knee. His neck does tie in a bit low, but I don't think that will stop him. He looks fast! I'm not sure about WP, but the barrels and 3day eventing, I think he'll hold his own.

I like him!

I find this horse very rectangular though his overall balance isnt bad. Because of his unusually long whithers, he still exhibits a short top line and long underline. In both pictures he looks like he is stretching out his back legs? Front legs look to be straight...and He has really good muscle tone.
Like someone else noted above...he does look a little sour in the second picture. But that could be for a million reasons.

He neck looks a little thick to me as well, and there's something funny about how it's connected with the rest of the body that just looks funny to me....

Other than that, he has alot of muscle that I love and I think he would be very fast as well. Good looking boy!

As the first poster said, my first thought was "Three day eventing???" Just not the typical build for an eventer, I don't think. A litle short backed or short-legged, or both, I guess.

But western pleasure and barrel, definitely! He's built for speed and with some more development of the back end, should be really fast on the starts and barrels.

I really like his front end, and think that his back end could be developed some more. I think that would be done with lots of W\T\C transitions and some spins or [argh, I canNOT think of the right term!] switching directions while the back-end stays in place. [?!?]

Looks very well put together. But his neck may be a bit thick. Defnately looks like he'd be good for gaming events.

Overall this guy is in good shape, and obviously well muscled. I think his neck ties in very low, and is kinda thick also. He kinda has a crest going, a neck sweat would help that. I'd like to see his withers more defined, they aren't very prominent. Saddle horses should have a good wither to hold a saddle securely. That could also be due to his cresty neck. His rear end does need some more development, it doesn't match his front. I'd imagine he rides heavy on his forehand. Legs look good, but can't tell too much about them. Nice looking guy! Looks foundation bred?

First thing I noticed, his legs. Too short for his build. In some cases this is good, others bad. But I think it kinda gives him an unbalanced look. For me, he seems like he might do well in barrels. Looks like he could use some trimming up and get that hind end working. He is pretty heavy up front, which could give him some issues in anything. He appears to be camped out behind, but could be just the way he was standing (not entirely square).

For me, I could see him as a barrel horse locally maybe even district but I do not see him as a WP or Eventer.
