Look what came into my Clinic!!

This is Ozzy. She is a Serval/Savannh Cat hybrid. Right now she is about 20 pounds and about 2 feet tall. Full grown she will be about 50-60 pounds and as tall as a Doberman Pincher. Even though she was intemidating, she was really sweet and loving. So BEAUTIFUL!!! She couldn't be treated like a normal cat and posed as a challenge for the whole clinic.

Ozzy

Serval Cat

Savannah Cat (Serval x Domestic Cat usually Bengals or Tabbies)

Bengal (Asian Leopard Cat x Domestic Cat usually tabbies)

Asian Leopard Cat

A lot of wild in this cats lineage!!!!

I had thought of getting one of those about two years ago but I do not believe I have the home for one. They can open doorknobs, They are very intelligent and will even take your meat from groceries. Very wonderful animals but I would want to be home more so as to establish a very goo relationship otherwise it would not be good for the cat. They are so beautiful. They are not cheap either.

I think this lady paid 3500.00 for hers but said they can run from 10,000.00-20,000.00. Really depends on what you want I guess. I feel in love with her but my husband was a little weirded out by her. If I was going to pay that much for a cat, shoot I might as well get another horse.

In all honesty, I have no idea. I guess just to have a more exotic cat. I think they are pretty but I would be scared to own one. IMO wild cats need to stay in the wild.

I guess it it no differant than people breeding wolves to dogs and zebras to horses.

Exactly my point. I'd be afraid to own it...and wolf/dog mixes too...and these are the kinds of breeds that I imagine wind up getting put down.

I understand the Bengals...which are hypoallergenic. But I don't think they are at all wild.

That is one beautiful cat, but I don't think that I could ever own one. Mind you I could look at pictures all day long.

wow she is beautiful so are the breeds in her linage. She def looks more like the serval then an of the others in her breeding. I love the ears of the serval and have always anmired them when I go to the peterborough zoo(haven't been in a while though so not sure if they still have them)only thing I don't really like about there looks is how tiny threre heads look in comparison to there body's.

So what brought Ozzy into the clinic was it just for a check up or was she sick?

I've never seen one before. She's beautiful but I don't think I'm up to the challenge of anything but the most domestic kinds. Might eat one of my teeny weenies for lunch!!!!!

What a beautiful animal. But, I could never own one also. They sound like alot of work and bigger than my dog.
When I was still working at one vet hospital, I did have the opportunity to help bottle feed a cougar and a lynx. The cougar was just a few weeks old when I was there and the lynx a couple months old. They were owned by a breeder friend of the office manager at the clinic. He would breed them as needed and sell them to zoos as semi tame animal that were a little easier to handle for zookeepers. He never sold to just people who wanted to own a wild cat.
Anyway, they were fun to handle and quite an experience, but we were all very glad when they went back to the owner

She came in to be declawed on her back feet which I really didn't like. In my experiance, cats tend to bite more when they have no claws and let me tell you, this cat didn't have the normal cat teeth. It was scary.

What a beautiful animal! I'm not one to have cats because of my alergies but those are very neat looking - not to mention - scarey?
