Wormer- what is the best to use?

I just had7 kittens dumped here and they all need worming. I've tried all natural wormer and stuff from local drug stores. Does anyone have any opinions on what is best to use for tape and hook worms?

The only way to kill tapeworms comes from the vet. I, also, don't trust anything for babies unless it is from the vet. If you have a good relationship with your vet he/she should just sell you the tabs, telling you how much to give. Kitens should only need half a tab each, it doesn't cost so much!

Oh, 6 months are still kittens!! I don't call them cats until they are a year old. Unless they are very large at 6 months they still might just take half a pill. Have you asked your vet about any programs or specials that might help you with the cost of spay/neuter? How many boys, girls? And where are the pics? HT requires pics! Some shelters or rescue programs have good rates for spay/neuter.
You are a terrific person to be caring for kitties that someone else threw away. That person should be hung up and whipped!

i have taken them to the vet to get checked on and eye medicine. found a clinic who will spay/neuter for $50 per kitten and include shots and all that. the vet gave me some type of wormer a couple months ago but this year the fleas were terrible and the worms.
here is Explorer aka E, the boy. he loves to explore things.

here is fatty lol. boy. picture explains it all.

here is L. boy

baby girl, the girl of course.

and the newest addition i found in the barn...

They are all absolutely adorable!!
Sounds like you've been doing your homework! $50. each including shots is a very good price. It's still really hard when you get several at once though.
Somehow, ya we know how that goes, I ended up with 8 all needing fixing at once!! I spread them out and prayed for no problems (pregnancies). I did watch them closely and seperate, but we know how sneaky those little critters can be.
You have joined up, here, with many who have the same heart! We seem to be rescuers to the bone!

Thanks!

I love them all. I told my boyfriend we need to keep em. lol. He loves cats more than anything and we just bought a house last May and it's big enough for 10 kittens IMO
One of the newbies is going to a friends house though.

Droncit kills tapeworms... Anytype of wormer you buy to kill tapes needs drocit in it. We sell the tablets here in arkansas for like 6 bucks a tablet and usually 1/2 a tablet will do the average cat.

For the other worms you could use panacur... it's fairly cheap... usually like 8 dollars for 30 cc's and you use 1 cc per 10lbs body weight and it will kill off any other worms you have

At my clinic we use pyrantal (stongid) at 1 cc per 20 lbs. For your guys you could use 1/4 cc. For tapeworms we use Cestex which is something you can only get from a vet. I don't think there is anything over the counter for tapeworms. Kittens get tapes from eating a flea. Be sure your guys stay on flea prevention to keep them from getting tapeworms. Good Luck and finding a good vet would be your best bet.

Strongid is the safest wormer to use for dogs and cats the active ingredient is pyrantel, it will kill your hooks and rounds, to kill the tapes you do need droncit, which is praziquantel............
