Bengal Kittens

I just wanted to share a few photos of my two bengal kittens. I'm hoping to show these two in the future.

Aramis (I'm still debating on a registered name for him):

Together:

Rambling Rose:

Those are adorable. Can you give me some information on them? Also can bengals have a bob tail? Thanks

What type of info are you looking for?

They were a breed who was originally developed by crossing an Asian Leopard Cat (a 5-15 lb wild cat) with a domestic. The bengal cat has to be at least 4 generations out from that cross - and these two are closer to 7 or 8 generations out. The bengal can come in spotted or marble (these are marbles) and can come in traditional brown, snow, silver or solid black.

They are a more active cat like a siamese or aby and they also can be very vocal and talk with you. They are not for everyone and if you are looking for a calmer cat who will spend hours in your lap or is quiet - you should look at a different breed.

No, they do not come with bob tails.

Rambling Rose has the sahpe of a cowboy on her bum - they are beautiful. I used to show himmies and persians. It was a lot of fun but cat folk are some unique people!

My brother and his wife have one. At least I think they do. But he was a shelter adoption so actually unknown. They named theirs "Joey" because he leapt around a lot like a baby kangaroo. He would go absolutely batty over kitty toys, and yet you could play fetch with him like a dog. His favorite toy when he was little was a plastic aligator that he could hold in his mouth like a dog holds a stick. He would carry that thing around and drop it in your lap asking to play "fetch."

Now, he's much older. And fatter. When he lies down, he looks like a python that swallowed something.

My friend was just given a young male and he is gorgeous! He is so sweet, yet smart too. She has a very spoiled Jack Russell who thought he was king of the world until this Bengal disabused him of that notion! I've never heard such crybaby whining come out of a Russell and I've had the breed for 30+ years! What's so funny about it is that the cat came declawed but so confident that he doesn't need them. Now they play tag all around the house!

Thanks!

No, not my only two. I have mom and dad of Aramis - he is of my own breeding and is the result of several generations of my work.
Mom:

Dad:

I've also got Chardonnay - my other future queen. Here is her photo:

Then I also have my F2 female Lady Rajah:

I also have an adult female that is hopefully going to a new home next weekend and another retired breeder still looking for her right home. I also have a bengal mix here that I am fostering for the bengal rescue network.

Lady M and rivervu2 - LOL those sound like typical bengal antics! My mom adopted one of my retired breeders and keeps saying she isn't a normal cat! She rules the house, but mom's other cats in their place, plays with the dog's toys, and plays in the toilet water. I tried to warn her! I tell my pet buyers they need to child proof their house like they have a toddler that can climb walls.

One of my earlier queens - Trinket (grandma to Rambling Rose) - loved to play fetch for hours and she played it more reliably than my dog.

When I was at the vet today, they were selling three Bengal male kittens! Sooo cute! If I could manage to have cats up here...I would have gotten one. This girl came in to look at them cause she heard they were hypoallergenic.

hypoallergenic is only partially true. There are some people who are allergic to other cats that are not allergic to bengals. Its a combination of the tighter coat not holding the dander and the Asian Leopard Cat genes changing the protein of the actual dander.

However, there is no gaurantee that a person won't be allergic to bengals either, so I recommend anyone looking at a bengal for this purpose to go spend time at a breeder's and actually play with their adult cats for a while to see if you have a reaction.

Yeah...that's what the girl was doing. She spent about 30 minutes rubbing all over the cat...said she wasn't feeling itchy.

Wow you have some stunning cats! I have to say they have been one of my favorite breeds and I always drool over them at every cat show.
