A tea drinking cat

I bought a jug of sweet tea from the store the other day. I am trying to stop drinking sodas (bought some of them too but am slowing down). Well I poured me a full glass of tea, got ht loaded up and reached for my glass when I was looking through the latest threads. Well I missed the glass and grabbed my cats head instead. Trying to figure out what in the heck I had done I realized Mico's head was in my glass of tea. Well while I tried to figured out if he had gotten any of it, I look at his mouth and it is drenched in tea and he is licking his lips. The only other drink of mine he gets into is my milk I understood that seeing he is a cat but my tea. I thought maybe it was a fluke and he was just tasting it. No all day long I have not been able to keep him out of my glasses of tea. He has spilt one for easier access and he got into my daughters glasses to. I have a tea drinking cat. Who would have thunk a cat that likes tea.

My cat will stick his head into any glass sitting around. I have a friend who can't keep his cats out of his Martinis. You have a teetotaller at least

My Tigger will also stick his head into any drink he can find. He's a real pain too, because he will knock stuff over trying to get down to the bottom of the glass. I have to be very careful about what I keep at my desk by the computer, or by the nightstand. Just the other night, he spilled a half full glass of water on me while I was sleeping! (You'd think I would learn, but I thought for sure I was putting it where he wouldn't get to it.)

He also loves loves loves loves water with ice cubes in it. Crazy kitty. So during the summer every time I go to the fridge for ice, I'll do one fillup that goes straight into the kitty water dish, then a second for myself. That helps keep his furry little face out of mine. When he hears the ice cubes, he comes waddling!

I will have to see how Mico does with ice. I don't use ice that often, weird I know, but I am so used to everything being room temperature. But it seems like he loves the sound of running water. He has swam in the bathtub on more then one occasion, he is fascinated with the toilet filling up and he slaps at the water as I fill the sink to wash dishes and to make kool aid. Cats are just way to curious for their own good sometimes.

Yep - many cats seem attracted to tea. I don't drink the stuff myself but I've seen Lu-lu go crazy for my mom's sweet tea.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

Last night I had to get some serious work done (as opposed to goofing off work), and I shut the cats out of the den. I had a wide-mouth cup of icewater with me at the computer. Normally a no-no because Tigger will lap from it and\or knock it over.

This morning, I go to my desk, and forget that the cup is still there. Tigger waddles up to it and drinks from it. I watch carefully and let him do as he pleases because it's yesterday's cup, I wouldn't drink from it without a washing anyway.

Tigger waddles off.

Pluma, the ever so watchful critter that he is, decides to follow suit. And I htink to myself, "Oh no, here we go again." Pluma already likes to drink running water from the faucet, I'm not thrilled about another quirky habit. But I let him drink and just watch carefully.

Next thing I know, before I can stop him, he has reached his paw into the cup! And what does he do when he pulls it out? SHAKES IT OFF!!!

Aah, I have water all over my keyboard, my mouse, my paperowrk for a job interview (which is why I was up early), both monitors! Aaah!

He has pulled that stunt before with food . . .comes up to me while I'm eating and begs. After three or for "NO!"s, he will sneak a paw onto my food and lap from it so he can get a taste. Sneaky little brat.

Mico does the same thing to me. The first time I thought it was cute. The second, annoyed but ok. Now it drives me nuts. I am like hey man do you see me here. He looks at me like duhhhh what. Then by the time I get it cleaned up he decides to walk all over me with wet feet. YUCKKK.

Lady MCSE my Mellow plays in the water too. If there are any little plastic toys like my sons lizards or dinosaurs around he drops them in the dog's water, flips them around in there then fishes them out and does it again. Eventually he'll tire of the game and come walk on me with his wet feet.

Let me guess..is your kitty black and white?

I dont know if this has been tested in the past or what, but every Black and White cat I knew - loved ice cubes and playing in the water dishes they drink from.

My last "black and white" cat would meow and meow and meow for an ice cube if I ran to the freezer for an ice cream or some cubes. She would go around my legs in circles begging for an ice cube until I reluctenly just give it to her just to shut up. sorry, but it does get annoying when a cat doesn't stop meowing constantly after 30 seconds...

anyways, as soon as I get the ice cube in my hand, she runs with [all 11 lbs] of cat flub to her water dish thats in the laundry room and waits for the ice cube to be put in her water dish...When I get to her dish, I don't actually give it[drop it in the bowl] to her w/o a trick she has to preform. Standing on her hind legs and touching the cube ..then she gets the "treat" Hey, gotta work for the treat - nothing is free I'm sure she knew that...

Well, anyways, thats her craze - "Ice Cubes" ...I never knew another cat "black and white" that refused Cubes or liked to play in the water bowls....

ON THE OTHER HAND,
my brothers "black and white" cat loves playing with his water bowl. he honestly would stick both front paws in and swish the water out of the bowl water would only stand in the dish for about 30 seconds after you replenish it, cause he will just play around nutty....

Anyways, thats my 2 cents of "black and white" cats.....They love water or ice cubes....guess they must be part tiger or something
