Prayers Needed...Zeus *LOTS of pictures!!*

Hi Everyone,

This is a little late, but I need all the prayers I can get for my kitten Zeus. He got outside sometime lastweek and ate a VERY poisonus plant, and it doesn't look like I caught it in time! I feel so bad, I just can't handle the thought of losing him. He has been with the vet since Thursday night and they didn't give him very good chances. I called this morning though and they have him on an IV and they said he is looking a bit perkier this morning, has no more diarrea, no more puking and ate most of his breakfest. I'll find out what to do sometime around 2pm today. So please if you have moment maybe you can put a good word in for him. Thank you so much!

He's a cutie!! Best wishes for little Zeus. Although it sounds like he's doing quite well if he's not throwing up, doesn't have diarrhea and is eating well. Our Chinese Water Dragon is named Zeus

Thank you,

Yes, when they told me everything this morning I tried not to get my hopes up but it's just so hard. He has accute(sp?) kidney failure and he is only 11 months old...they couldn't read his blood work because I guess it was off the charts . I'll have to let him know he's named after a dragon when I see him lol I'm sure he'll be impressed .

I sure hope they can get him straightened out. I didn't realize he was in acute kidney failure, I'm so sorry, poor kitty. He has such a beautiful face. {{{{hugs}}}}

Prayers are there to surround you.

Kittens seem to get into everything, so do not blame yourself. Some things we cannot see happening until....Just know that you may not see the prayers either, but they are there also working.

I am glad to hear that he has signs of improvement. Prayers that his kidneys will function again.

Know that whatever happens...Zeus has been well loved. Love is eternal. It sweetly joins us together and that cannot be pulled apart.

The IVs and food will nourish his body, but it is your love that will nourish his soul.

(((hugs)))

Thank you everyone,

Everytime I see a picture or think of him I cry, I'm not handling this very well. I will be calling the vet in about 10 minutes to see what's going on and what actions need to be taken. Will update as soon as possible. Thank you for all your kind words. I really hope he pulls through and I have some good news for you guys. Thanks again.

Wow, I have a little orange boy named Zeus! He's long haired though. I named him Zeus because it's a powerful name, he was only 8 weeks old and had been chewed up by a raccoon when I found him. My Zeus is strong and healthy now! Hope the power lives on in your boy too!!
I recently lost a barely 1 year old kitty, Willow. That was, and still is, extremely painful. She came down with some sort of fungal pnuemonia, we just couldn't find the right treatment in time. It is so very hard to lose one so young!!
Accidents happen, kitties manage to get into bad things no matter how hard we try to protect them.
Your Zeus (and you) are in my prayers!!

Prayers coming your way. Kitties are very good at getting into things just when you think you have all the bases covered. Don't blame yourself... and I hope he gets to come home soon.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all of your prayers they are helping in every way so please keep them coming as we aren't of the woods yet. I just got back not to long ago...so here is an update on things...

They had him on IV for 24 hours and at about 12:00 today they did some more blood work. They can now read some things, there are still a few things that are off the chart, but, atleast it got better and not worst (or the same for that matter, sorry, I'm not to sure of all the medical terms and what not). He is now peeing ALOT according to the ladies at the office, which is a good thing. The vet that is working with him said she is happy with his progress but, he still has a ways to go.

My family vet clinic is closed for Sunday and Monday so I had to transfer him to the Emergency clinic for the next two days. He will now be on IV for the next 48 hours and quite possibly 72 hours depending on his condition. The vet that is working with him checked him out and what not and said that they have had a few cases exactly like his or sometimes slightly worse, and they were able to pull those animals through. So I kind of have my hopes up. All the vets have been so kind through this whole ordeal, I realize they can only do so much, but whatever they are doing seems to be working so cross your fingers.

Today may have been the day I had to make that oh so hard decision, but everyone that has been watching and praying for him have been just so incredible, so thank you so much I know it's not over but we are getting there slowly. I can't bare the thought of losing him...

Where there is life and faith, there is hope.
The simple fact that he has survived this long shows promise. He is obviously a fighter, and you both remain in my prayers!

Woooohoooo...

I am continuing to pray.

Just remember every moment is a blessing. We so often focus on looking at a "long life" and forget the days that create that. Your little Zeus is blessed because you are cherishing each moment with him. I pray those moments become a lifetime for him...but either way love and cherished moments are all that we have. For today he is "well" and getting great care. Cherish your kitty!

Don't worry if you don't understand the tests, that is their job. Your job is to spoil your little guy with kisses and hugs.

We are here lifting both of you up.

Sooo glad to know he is still fighting and who would know that cat pee could be such a happy thing

Give him a kiss for us. ((((hugs))))

Quick Update

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would let you know Zeus was better lastnight, def. DID get into either lillies or our virgina creeper (sp?-I guess both are VERY toxic to kitties) maybe even both cause he's a goof. Anywho the vet wanted to keep him for atleast another 24 hours and then she told me he can probably come home as long as his bloodwork is better and he is eating well, I was so happy lastnight, I almost couldn't sleep!!! Thank you everyone!!!!
