Rest in peace, B.B.

Our 22-year old cat, BB, crossed the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon. He arrived in our family in 1986 and passed away this afternoon. BB was in renal failure and he was euthanized at 4 PM.

Bee was a great family companion who was always a "presence" when I played outside (I was in third grade when we got him) and lived a very long and full life.

I found a few photos of him and scanned them. Mainly, they're of my sister. BB is perched on me in one photo -- they're all from the late 80's/early 90's, so excuse the fashion and hair. Not exactly sure of his age, but he was less than 10 years old in those pictures.

Anyway, raise a glass and toast BB's long and happy life with me.

R.I.P B.B. He's was a very handsome boy and one of my favorite kinds of cats a TABBY lol out of all the cats I've owned 95% were tabbies no clue why but I'm drawn to them for some reason.

I love the last 2 pics there soo cute. He'll be watching over you till you meet agian and you'll have all your memories with your handsome man to remember him by.

Aww, EL78, I am sorry about BB. He looks just like my Hobbes kitty, sweet, smart, and ever-lovable. RIP, BB, life was good.

Sorry about BB - he really lived a long life. It's hard to lose a pet you have had that long...

Thanks, guys.

We've known this day was coming for, well, heck! We were impressed when he made it to 16! His health has deteriorated for several months, and this week, it was clear that he was in renal failure.

My dad has had a very difficult time letting go of this cat and is the "grieve in silence" type. As he put it, BB has been part of a third of his life.

I am hoping that the rest of our critters live for many more years. It's hard to hold them as they pass...

When we have a young one, we hold them and wonder how we will get through raising them...when we hold a beloved pet as we say good bye, we wonder how we will get through without them. There is no greater tribute than to hold a loved one to help them pass from this life. You gave a loving tribute to BB with your kindness.

Prayers for the family as you grieve 2 beloved pets.

Especially prayers for Dad, that in his silent grief...that everytime he hears an engine reving, he will be reminded of such a sound and in his heart will hear the eternal purrs of BB.

A toast to love and to a dedicated relationship that will continue beyond life on earth.

(((hugs)))

22 years is a very long life for a kitty, quite a testament to how well loved and cared for BB was. May he rest well with plenty of catnip and mousey toys.
