Make sure they all get their vaccinatiosn for Kitty Distemper/Feline luekemia...

Kittens are much more susceptible to upper respiratory infection when they arent vaccinated within a month or so after birth ...you better do it now before she can collapse and die on you.....as well as the other littermates...

Shes gorgeous, but she does have a swollen eye and that usually means she has an upper respiratory infection w/ eye discharge[green ucky oozing stuff ]...

keep us posted after her vet exam.

Face, your kitties may have some URI issues. Antibiotics work wonders, in a short period of time. It really is pretty common.

Yeah, the vet is due out Saturday morning to make sure Cody's infection (from gelding) is all cleared up with no complications, and give my son's dogs their annual shots. Something tells me I'll have a kitty bill on top of the horse and dog bills...my vet loves me...

I usually don't give barncats real names - just stupid names.

Momma is "Little Momma Grey Saber Tooth Kitty".
The babies are "Bad Butthole Kitty", "Dothead", "Butterscotch Kitty", and "Cockeyed Kitty".

Hey, you asked...

I have to agree with Face's barn-kitty naming scheme. Never name them something too cutesy in case they get eaten or something.

At the OSU barn we had: Orange kitty, blue kitty, mange kitty (he was missing several patches of hair from fighting), and slutty kitty (the only female).

When I worked at the humane society it was always the same (so I wouldn't be too sad when they went home): black kitty, mean kitty, momma kitty, baby kitty (1 thru 7), manx kitty, fluffy kitty, ugly kitty, fugly kitty, etc etc etc.

We have had a cat named Mr Pink...

and our last cat who just went on walkabout was "twinkletoes" note to self: don't let kids name stuff...

I had a dog named Elvis, and while the dog resembled him in all the ways a dog could, eventually I found myself walking through the hood (and folks, I mean the hood) hollering for elvis..got some funny looks I did

I agree... NEVER let kids name your animals!

We now have a dog named "Booger" and you can only imagine the looks we get from the neighbors when you go calling for him
