Found a kitten

Yesterday I was coming back to the house from the barn when I say a little gray kitten on my right rear tire of my truck. As I got near it the litten went up into the frame and spare tire under the truck. I tried over 6 hours to get the baby out. My mix breed dog, Sissy chased it out last night and tried to kill it but Iintervened, got bit on the finger and saved it.

It is skin and bones, less than six weeks old as it still has blue eyes and very feral for such a young one. I put the kitten in the upstairs bathroom, fed it and put a litter box in there. I can now rub then kitten, but it will hiss and scratch if I try to pick it up.

I am taking it to the vet on Monday for a checkup and hope that it is okay.
Since I ca't pick it up, I can't tell the sex yet. It is gray with 4 white paws.

I guess I need a name that will suit either sex.

Right now he/she will not let me check his/her mouth out. That is why we are headed to the vet on Monday. All I can do is stroke him/her. I am slowly trying to get it to not scratch and bite when I try and pick him/her up.

It looks to me like he/she may end up with blue eyes. It doesn't appear to have the milky opaque blue like a young kitten. In which case I like the name China.

Very cute little one. Once he/she is cleaned up and checked out, I bet you will have one loving and happy little one there!

What a cutie! Luckily at that age they come around quickly.
It just looks like the kitten has cat food around her mouth. Have fun with the little one.
What kind of truck do you have? Eg. Chevy. You could always name the kitten after the truck cause thats where you found him/her.

What a little cutie...does look as if it may have scrapped up its little mouth. if he/she is already letting you pet, it shouldn't be long before you can pick up. Some TLC and a good check up and I bet all will be fine.

You can always bundle in a towel if you have need to pick he/she up...keeps you from the scratches.

Isn't it amazing how nasty even the littlest ones can be? I'm sure you'll teach it some manners.

It's a real cutie pie!

Yeah!!! I was finally able to pick her up and check out her mouth. Yes it is a girl. It looks like where she scraped it somewhere while she was under the truck. I cleaned it off with a damp washcloth and then applied a little neosporin ointment to it. She was not a happy camper when I cleaned it though. After I was finished I put her in her box with a clean towel and cut off the light so hopefully she will rest for a little while and keep the ointment on.

Right now her belly is full and she is mostly content.

She is cute, looks like a unique color. Chloe is a cute name for a little girl kitty.

that's why my daughter picks up all our feral kittens, though she has quite a few scars she doesn't mind it I had a million boy names, but how about Gem, Mittens, or Sassy for her?

she's cute although looks older then six weeks going by that picture as it's eyes are clear and with young kittens(under 6 weeks)there still kind of a foggy blue so looks like he/she's going to be blue eyed.
As for age I'm thinking she looks to be more around the 10 week mark.

Good like with the little one and hopefully the check up will come back clean although looks like theres an infection of some sort in her mouth.

could call it Scratch, mittens, belle, lady d

Since you should be wearing gloves when you handle her you could always call her mittens...

We had two dropped off here last night.. I can only catch one of them... hopefully they do not crawl up into the trucks...

She should most likely keep the blue eyes they normally lose the color and they are rarely that blue even at birth unless they have siamese in them. He or she is VERY pretty. I think the kitten maybe older than 6 weeks and her 12-16 week adult insisors are coming in. It may just be VERY small for it's age due to malnutrition!!!

I'd take it in a heart beat if I were closer I love blue eyed cats of any breed!!!

She looks like a little snowshoe siamese; white paws, the beginnings of points (you should notice some darker shading on her tail), and those eyes will stay blue. I have a snowshoe; they're very devoted to their person.

She'll come round; keep loving on her, and letting her know you're safe. As soon as you can, pick her up and cradle her, and find her happy spot - the spot which will make her purr and drool. Base of the tail, top of the head, under the chin...whereever it is, find it. Use that to bond with her; and once bonded, she'll be right next to you forever.

Simon, my snowshoe, is NEVER farther than arm's reach, unless he's eating. He was a bottle baby too...so we're very tightly wound together.

Good luck, and she's a dear one. One thing I noticed was that she doesn't look too....scared. I know she is, but she didn't have the huge eyes, no extended claws, and the ears are forward; she'll come round really fast.

Best-
Noni

Adorable! Definately looks like a Siamese cross and the blue eyes will stay. If you found one kitten, there might be others somewhere near by.
