Ringworm on a cat

One of my 4 kittens I rescued on Easter Sunday has ringworm on his ear. I am using Tinactin. Seems to be going away. Does anyone have any kind of experiance with this? Thanks.

Several ways to treat it. If its a small spot and the tinactin is working, you may be lucky. But don't let that kitten near any other cats for several weeks until you know its gone as it can spread like wildfire.

If it spreads to larger patches in the coat you may need to use Lym Dyp. Nasty stuff, but works.

If in fact your kitty has ringworm (with skin scraping from a vet), Miconazole cream or any athlete's foot fungal cream will work....the toical cream treatment is a slower go than an oral medication but it will work....the TRICK is to keep treating long after it starts disappearing because it's still underlying whether you see it or not.....approx 1 month to 6 weeks will be effective.

Also the cream will keep it moist therefore, no dander or flaking will occur which means it is less of a threat to be spread or contageous....if it dries out and flakes off, that's when you can catch it....if you're immunity is low....children, old folks, people on chemo are most likely to catch it. I work at a vet, been around it, cleaned the areas, never have I ever caught anything from it.

Vitamin E works wonders! I'm just getting over having rongworm myself and that stuff works wonders and makes it not itch so bad.

My kitty had it when we first got her, the vet gave us some kind of medicated lotion that was applied twice a day. Went away in about a week. However, I got it from her! So be careful-if you get it as well, you can use the tinactin on yourself. And make sure to clean everything!
