Willow critical, please pray extra hard!!! Update, she's gone.

Willow is back at the vet. She just wasn't responding to the anti-fungal. At times you could hear her "breathing" from across the room!
The fact that she did respond to the antibiotic, Baytril, is the thing that makes me need to keep trying. Her breathing would improve within the first 2 days, it was only after they ran out she would go back down hill. Both times the meds were only for 10 days.
I will be more able to ask questions when I call tomorrow, this morning I was on the edge of breaking down. Does anyone know how long antibiotics can be given to a cat?
Does anyone know someone with breathing problems? The little I know of people who reley on oxygen tanks, they seem to be tired and weak, not in pain. That's how Willow seems, her eyes are clear and she will get up and around some. I've given her the Nutri Cal and even replacement milk, but probably not enough for what she needs right now. She has to be burning extra calories with that much effort to breathe.
Willow needs all the help she can get.

Poor Willow. Keeping her close in my list of prayers. I am not sur ehow long you can give anitbiotic's to cats?? I know in people most can only be givebn for 10 days?! I think!? I could be wrong here! Is there somethign stronger he can give her!? It sounds like it almost gets rid of whats attacking her lungs but not enough to keep it from regenerating!? Poor kitty!!!

I have no answers to your questions...maybe try to find a vet that is a cat specialist. We took a cat to a "cat hospital" and the meds they gave him added 2 good years to his life. Maybe call vet schools...maybe find a "cat forum" to ask some experts...check with specialty cat breeders....my cats have all just been house cats and so we never faced anything like this. i wish I knew an answer for you.

I know this is hurting your soul. We are here for you.

Prayers have been and will be falling like the rain around here (another record month - so Buckets full of prayers are going up to heaven for Willow and for answers).

((((hugs)))) and kiss Willow for us.

When I called to check in, the vet tech said it was extreemly busy but she would have one of the vets call me back ASAP.
It wasn't 5 minutes til the phone rang.
I'm glad I don't have to talk to do this. I try to talk and the words don't come out.
He said it was time to let her go. I asked that someone be with her, to love on her. I wanted so bad to be there, to tell her I love her and say good-bye. But it would probably be more frightening for her to have me there, shaking and crying.
At least it's over for her. She can be at peace now.
